Kjula School is looking for substitute teachers who are interested in stepping in as needed!

Kjula School and Vallby School are two rural schools, one mile from Eskilstuna center, in an idyllic setting that is growing. The schools belong to the same principal's area. They are schools with a strong sense of community and a fantastic environment that is used in teaching. The schoolyard is large and invites play and movement during break times. Kjula School has students from preschool class to grade 6, approximately 310 students and 45 employees. Vallby School has students from preschool class to grade 3, approximately 90 students and 15 employees.

Teaching takes place in age-homogeneous groups at both schools. Our professional and dedicated educators put the student at the center and use many different methods to reach every student. Our goal is that all students, based on their prerequisites, should feel motivation, joy, and a desire to learn, both in school and at the after-school care. Our school, after-school care, and student health services have an active and close collaboration, always focusing on ensuring our students receive a well-rounded development both academically and socially throughout the day.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you step in as needed. Where you step in depends on the current need. It could be at the after-school care or as a substitute teacher for grades F-6. Therefore, it is very important that you feel confident teaching independently in the classroom according to a lesson plan.

Sometimes the substitute assignment extends over a longer period, but it can also be just for single days. As a casual substitute, it is common to be called with short notice, sometimes the evening before. You therefore need to be flexible and feel confident in adjusting quickly.

Qualifications

You need to have a completed upper secondary education. It is positive if you have ongoing education or alternatively a degree as a preschool teacher or teacher with teacher certification in grades F-6. As a casual substitute, you need to feel confident that you can teach independently according to a lesson plan in grades F-6. It is positive if you also have experience in pedagogical work/teaching in school in grades F-6. If you have experience with students with NPD/NPS (Neurodevelopmental Disorders), it is a plus.

You are a confident person with an attitude that aligns with the school's value base, where the equal value of all students is central. You have an openness towards meeting children and adults with different backgrounds and prerequisites. We see that you are structured in your work, but have the ability to think outside the box and see the big picture when it comes to our students. You are confident in your pedagogical leadership and have a clear focus on a values-based and relationship-building approach.

Kjula School and Vallby School are located in the countryside, so you need to have a B driver's license and access to a car.
