The Faculty of Technology and Health Sciences offers education and research in technology, health, and information design, with a clear focus on societal challenges. The faculty comprises three departments where a total of approximately 500 people work.
The Department of Health Sciences, Innovation and Design offers education related to various professions within healthcare and health. Additionally, education is provided in public health science, innovation, and information design. The department conducts strong and applied research addressing socially important issues. Research and education are developed in collaboration with the public sector, industry, and civil society to provide students with up-to-date knowledge for their future professional lives.

The study position is combined with a full-time employment as a doctoral student during the period of study, which corresponds to four years.
Job Description
This doctoral project is part of the Forte-funded research project titled: Sustainable and inclusive social services for older LGBTQ+ persons: Design, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with LGBTQ+ and social service actors. Max Kleijberg leads the project and is a Senior Lecturer at the department.
The overarching aim of the project is to explore, develop, and evaluate LGBTQ+-inclusive and sustainable guidelines and practices in collaboration with LGBTQ+ and social service actors (i.e., older LGBTQ+ persons, care staff, as well as managers and decision-makers). As a doctoral student, you will be part of the project group driving the project and are expected to contribute to its overarching aim, research questions, and development.
As a doctoral student, your main tasks will be to conduct and coordinate research in collaboration with researchers as well as LGBTQ+ and social service actors. The work involves planning and conducting scientific studies, including the development of research design, data collection, analysis, and scientific publication in international journals or equivalent scientific publications.
The project has a co-creative character, meaning that as a doctoral student, you will work in close collaboration with the project's various actor groups, including initiating, planning, and conducting research and co-creation activities, as well as contributing to implementation work within the project. Södertälje Municipality is a central partner in the project. The tasks include, in addition to regular presence at the department, active participation in meetings, data collection, and collaboration with the project's actors in Södertälje.
You are also expected to actively participate in a research environment through involvement in seminars and conferences, as well as presenting and discussing your work on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
To be admitted to postgraduate education, the applicant must have basic eligibility and the specific eligibility required by the subject, as well as be assessed to have the ability otherwise required to benefit from the education.
Basic eligibility for postgraduate education (according to Higher Education Act 7th Chapter, § 39) is held by those who:
- have completed an advanced level degree,
- have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at advanced level, or
- in some other way, within or outside the country, have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge.
Specific eligibility
Specific eligibility for admission to Innovation and Design is held by those who:
- have a bachelor's/master's degree or 60 HE credits at advanced level within a main area/subject relevant to the current doctoral education project.
- have the ability to express themselves excellently in spoken and written Swedish and English.
