Creativity, joy of creation, and learning take center stage here. We are now looking for you who are an inspiring and engaged textile arts teacher and want to awaken students' curiosity and develop their practical skills.
Kjula and Vallby School are two rural schools located approximately one mile from the center of Eskilstuna. The schools belong to the same principal's area and are characterized by community, engagement, and a nature-oriented environment used in teaching. The schoolyard is large and invites play and movement during break times. At Kjula School, there are approximately 310 students from preschool class to grade 6, and around 45 staff members work here. At Vallby School, there are approximately 100 students from preschool class to grade 3, and around 15 staff members work here.
Teaching takes place in age-homogeneous groups at both schools. Our professional and engaged educators put the student at the center and use many different methods to reach every student. Our goal is that all students, based on their prerequisites, should feel motivation, joy, and desire to learn, both at school and during leisure time. Our school, leisure time activities, and student health services have an active and close collaboration, always with a focus on ensuring our students receive a well-rounded development both academically and socially throughout the day.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a textile arts teacher, you teach students in grades 3-6 in half-classes. This creates good opportunities to build a secure and creative learning environment where each student can develop based on their prerequisites. The position covers 70% teaching in textile arts, with the possibility of extending with a leisure time service of 30%. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on the current curriculum. You document and follow up on students' knowledge development and maintain ongoing contact with guardians. You are the sole textile arts teacher but collaborate closely with the school's wood and metal arts teachers. You also have close collaboration with both Kjula and Vallby schools. Students from Vallby come to Kjula for their arts education. The textile arts room is well-planned and well-equipped with machines, tools, and a wide range of materials that provide good conditions for varied and inspiring teaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a teacher's degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach in textile arts. It is meritorious if you also have eligibility to teach in leisure time centers. You may also be at the end of your education and finish shortly. If you have experience teaching in schools and are accustomed to working based on the current curriculum, that is also meritorious. The position requires that you have a B driver's license and access to a car as the school is located outside Eskilstuna with limited local traffic.
