Rinmangymnasiet, located in central Eskilstuna, is a school with approximately 1,300 students. We are specialized in natural sciences, technology, and service. The school offers several national programs, including Child and Youth Department, Industrial Technology, Natural Science, Restaurant and Food, Technology, Care and Nursing, Vocational Introduction, and Language Introduction programs.

We are currently looking for a Special Needs Teacher/Pedagogue for our Adapted Upper Secondary School. This voluntary education is aimed at students with intellectual disabilities. We have our own curriculum and offer national programs in Society-Nature and Language, Hotel and Restaurant and Bakery, Health-Care and Nursing, as well as individual programs. The Adapted Upper Secondary School is located at Rinmangymnasiet and Skjulsta.

Job Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teacher/Pedagogue, you work closely with students in collaboration with teaching assistants. Together, you develop individually adapted teaching methods based on each student's prerequisites and needs. Your main responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing pedagogical work.
• Mentoring teaching assistants.
• Mentorship duties.
• Teaching theoretical subjects leading to grades within the Health-Care and Nursing, Society-Nature and Language, and Hotel and Restaurant programs.

Teaching is guided by the Education Act, curricula, and course plans. You will primarily teach in three of the four vocational programs according to curricula GY25 and GY13. You will be part of a work group with extensive experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and potential neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF).

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Teacher certification and work experience as a teacher.
• Education as a special needs teacher or special educator, preferably with a focus on intellectual disabilities and mathematics.
• Experience using visual supports or other pedagogical tools.
• Knowledge of clarifying pedagogy (meritorious).
• A valid driver's license (mandatory).
