Åva Gymnasium is a municipal upper secondary school in Täby with approximately 1,400 students and 130 employees. The school has a broad range of programs including university-preparatory programs, vocational programs, introduction programs, as well as International Baccalaureate. Åva Gymnasium is both an Amnesty-certified and UN school. All professions collaborate to prepare students for the future by raising awareness about technological development and sustainability issues.

As a teacher assistant at Åva Gymnasium, you will be a central figure at the school. You are one of the school's outward faces and actively work to be a security-building adult, while also facilitating the teachers' work, for example through retake exam opportunities and support during study visits.

About the position

In the role of teacher assistant at Åva Gymnasium, you will work with varied tasks. You will support students in their learning, for example by providing support during demanding teaching situations, staffing the school reception, and providing administrative support. You will serve as an adult role model for our students and work relationally to create security, study peace, and well-being at the school.

To succeed in this role, you need a strong commitment to the students' development from adolescence to young adulthood, as well as experience working with upper secondary school-aged youth. You are solution-oriented, accustomed to working independently, and can coordinate and prioritize between different assignments. You also need to be relationship-building and skilled at establishing good collaborations.

Qualifications

• You have a high school diploma.
• You have good communication skills and the ability to adapt to different situations and tasks.
• You have the ability to work independently and are accustomed to coordinating and prioritizing between different tasks, assignments, and situations.
• You have experience working with young people.
• Further education in social pedagogy or teacher assistance is meritorious.
