Are you passionate about non-financial risks and want to play a key role in strengthening the risk culture within one of Sweden's leading banks? Do you want to work closely with the business and contribute to making risk management an enabler for the business rather than a hurdle? Then this might be the right opportunity for you.

As a Senior Risk Manager within the business areas Wealth Management (WM) and Swedish Banking (SBV) at Swedbank, you will have a central role in developing and strengthening the management of non-financial risks. You will work closely with the business to ensure a sound risk culture, effective internal controls, and that regulatory requirements are translated into practical and value-creating risk management.

At Swedbank, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work strategically and operationally with non-financial risks, such as operational, sustainability, and regulatory risks.

  • Contribute to the development of governance, risk management, and internal control within WM and SBV.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on matters concerning risk management, incident management, and risk-aware decision-making.

  • Drive and further develop risk management in line with the bank's strategic direction and the business's needs.

  • Proactively identify, analyze, and monitor risks together with the business to create long-term value.

  • Lead or contribute to the development and implementation of new processes, ways of working, and methods within the risk area.

  • Build specialist competence in several risk areas and serve as a key knowledge resource for the organization.

  • Work in a role with high visibility and many touchpoints, collaborating with colleagues from various parts of the bank.

  • Contribute to better conditions for our customer-facing businesses, thereby creating value for both customers and colleagues.

In this role, you need:

  • An academic degree from a university or college in fields such as economics, law, risk management, finance, systems science, or another relevant area.

  • Several years of experience in risk management, internal governance and control, compliance, or a related field.

  • Good knowledge of operational risk management and experience conducting risk analyses and assessments in complex business environments.

  • Experience supporting the business in change initiatives, projects, and regulatory implementations.

  • A good understanding of financial regulations and requirements related to internal governance and control, such as outsourcing, data protection, and information security.

  • The ability to independently drive complex issues and translate regulatory requirements into business-oriented and practically feasible solutions.

  • Experience leading workshops, driving change, and navigating complex organizations.

  • Analytical, structured, and able to see both the big picture and the details.

  • High integrity, good judgment, and the courage to challenge when necessary.

  • Be a team player without ego who contributes to the team's collective success.

  • Communicate clearly and pedagogically in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

At Swedbank, you can experience:

  • Personal and professional development through self-leadership and continuous development.

  • Meaningful work that positively impacts our workplace, our customers, and society.

  • An open and collaborative culture that encourages cross-functional teamwork and offers networking opportunities.

  • A supportive and inclusive environment that promotes a balanced and sustainable work-life situation, with flexible working conditions where appropriate for the role.

  • Benefits such as our offer of bank products for employees, occupational pension plans, the equity-based reward program Eken, and a wellness allowance.
