Workplace
The Swedish Economic Crime Authority (Ekobrottsmyndigheten) is an agency staffed by specialists who conduct comprehensive crime prevention by preventing, detecting, interrupting, investigating, and prosecuting economic crimes. All competencies and professional roles are gathered under one roof, and we work together to contribute to increased safety and reduced crime by combating economic criminality.
Approximately 850 employees with various competencies, such as prosecutors, police officers, investigators, administrators, and other specialists, work at the agency. We work together in permanent or temporary teams.
The security unit at the headquarters is responsible for the agency's security work. This includes security protection (personnel, information, and physical security), information and physical security outside the scope of the Security Protection Act, employee protection, signal security, continuity and crisis preparedness work, as well as total defense work, which also falls within the unit's mandate. IT and cyber security issues are handled in close collaboration with the agency's IT unit.
Responsibilities
You will serve as an important support to the agency, primarily within the area of security protection. This includes work within personnel security, driving method and development work in the security protection area, and working with security-protected procurements. There are good opportunities for further education and competence development within the security area. The tasks place high demands on integrity.
In the role of Security Specialist, you will primarily work with:
- security in procurements, including drafting and following up on security protection agreements
- conducting security clearance interviews, background checks, and applying for register checks according to the Security Protection Act
- conducting security conversations and handling personnel matters
- working with governance issues within the security protection area
- supporting the agency's business areas regarding personnel security, assessments, and security-protected procurements
- potentially being part of the agency's emergency preparedness organization
- in addition, other tasks within the security area may become relevant.
Requirements
We are looking for you who have
- post-secondary education in the security area, or equivalent knowledge that the employer deems relevant
- education within the security protection area
- current and several years of work experience relevant to the tasks as assessed by the employer
- good organizational and administrative skills
- good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is meritorious if you in addition to the above also have
- experience in conducting security-protected procurements
- experience in security work at a government agency
- experience in conducting security clearance interviews
- current and several years of experience working with signal security
- experience in planning and conducting training
- otherwise, good knowledge of other security and total defense areas within the unit's responsibility.

You work in a structured manner and can prioritize and delimit your work based on the assignment. In the role, you will handle various types of questions and have many contact surfaces; therefore, it is of great importance that you have a good ability to communicate with others and can handle people who are under pressure or in a vulnerable situation in a good way. This position requires that you have a high awareness of confidentiality and high integrity.
