About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer for our client in the automotive industry. In this role, you will be responsible for procurement within a defined area, driving both strategic and operational initiatives with a focus on cost-efficiency, quality, and delivery security.

In this position, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers. You will not only handle ongoing procurement activities but also develop long-term strategies, drive improvement initiatives, and contribute to business development in areas such as sustainability.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and drive daily procurement activities
• Be responsible for and execute strategic sourcing work, as well as drive cost-reduction initiatives
• Develop and implement business and procurement strategies
• Negotiate contracts and ensure efficient supplier solutions
• Establish and develop structures for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Monitor and analyze market developments affecting availability and pricing
• Ensure that delivery, quality, and cost meet set targets
• Collaborate with internal functions and project teams

About you:

We are looking for a confident and business-driven buyer with a strong ability to work both strategically and operationally. You have several years of procurement experience, including strategic sourcing and supplier development in complex, preferably technical environments. Furthermore, we expect you to have strong negotiation skills and high business acumen, along with experience working in international organizations. You have good collaboration skills and are accustomed to working with multiple stakeholders; experience from the automotive industry or similar is a plus.

Requirements for the role:

• Several years of relevant experience in strategic procurement
• Experience in sourcing, supplier development, and cost optimization
• Experience in developing and implementing procurement or category strategies
• Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into business decisions
• Experience in driving projects independently
