Your Role

Within the business unit Digital Battlespace Solutions (DBS), we work to digitalize the defense forces and strengthen their success and security in military operations. We offer advanced solutions in command and control systems, autonomy, cyber defense, space, decision support, and communications.

We are in an exciting growth phase and are looking for a System Engineer for Product Unit Land who wants to contribute to the next step in the development of LSS Mark, the army's tactical command and support system. You will be a key figure in radio system and communications development, leading systems work in tactical radio, waveforms, C2 applications, transmission solutions, as well as integration into platforms and units.

You will collaborate closely with specialists in radio, RF, data links, network planning, system integration, and verification, as well as with FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) and the Swedish Armed Forces. The role involves driving technical solutions and ensuring that radio systems and command functions work together as an integrated whole in complex environments. The position is located in Linköping.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Drive systems engineering work throughout the entire lifecycle - from concept to integration, operation, and further development.
• Participate in requirements analysis, interpret operational needs, and translate them into system requirements and design principles.
• Design and describe system architecture for a command system, including radio systems, C2 functions, and tactical networks.
• Work with communication technology across radio systems: antennas, RF components, waveforms, data links, frequency planning, and transmission methods.
• Support and participate in integration teams and ensure technical collaboration between subsystems, platforms, and external actors.

Your Profile

We are looking for you with technical competence and relevant post-secondary education in fields such as systems engineering, telecommunications, or electronics. You have several years of experience in systems work in complex environments, preferably within the defense or telecom sector, and combine a systemic holistic perspective with technical understanding.

Experience with SATCOM, HF radio, MIMO/beamforming, OFDM, or software-defined radio is advantageous, as is knowledge of the army's operations and C2 processes. It is also advantageous if you have worked strategically and technically with requirements analysis, architecture, design, and technical leadership.

We believe your personal qualities are crucial for how well you will succeed in the role of System Engineer with us. You have the ability to lead systems work, structure complex problems, and work independently, while simultaneously translating technology into concrete operational value for units and platforms. You are fluent in Swedish and English, are a curious team player, and thrive both in collaboration and in independent work.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.

Please note that the selection process will take place during the summer. Interviews are scheduled for August/September.
