The Electronic Warfare (EW) area in Gripen

Our team is responsible for requirements definition and development of the EW system that protects the aircraft from threats. The system includes radar warning receivers, laser and missile warning systems that detect incoming attacks, as well as active and passive countermeasures such as electronic jamming and deployment of flares/chaff.

Your Role

You will initially focus on equipment coordination, ensuring that our aircraft and rigs have the right equipment available at the right time. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to build knowledge of our systems through close collaboration with experienced colleagues and a structured induction and training program.

Over time, you will develop into the role of Equipment Engineer with responsibility for parts of our EW system.

The role involves many interfaces and close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, where you contribute to ensuring the availability, functionality, and development of our equipment throughout the aircraft's lifecycle.

Examples of tasks:

• Initially responsible for equipment coordination to ensure our aircraft and rigs are supplied with equipment.
• Manage equipment logistics during repair, warehousing, and deliveries.
• Take training to eventually take on the role of Equipment Engineer for our EW system.
• Work closely with experienced Equipment Engineers and hardware throughout the aircraft's lifecycle.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, procurement, production, aircraft mechanics, pilots, and Saab's expertise in equipment development.

You will become part of an engaged team working with both Gripen C/D and Gripen E/F, while having the opportunity to contribute to the development of tomorrow's combat aircraft.

We believe you have:

• An engineering degree in a field relevant to the role.
• A genuine interest in technology and technical systems.
• The ability to work systematically and handle multiple tasks in parallel.
• Good collaboration skills and ease in building relationships with various stakeholders.
• The ability to take initiative and drive work forward.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We welcome both recent graduates and those with a few years of experience who want to develop within a new and exciting technical field.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
