To our client Siemens Energy, a leading global player in the energy industry, we are now looking for a Diagnostic Engineer for a project at their site in Finspång.

Thanks to high-tech and innovative product development, the company is an established partner in the energy sector, delivering advanced and sustainable solutions for the market's current and future needs.

Through this assignment, you will have the opportunity to work in an international and forward-thinking environment with many development possibilities.

This is initially a 9-month consulting assignment via Unik Resurs with very good prospects for extension.

We apply rolling selection, which means the assignment may be filled earlier than the last application date.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Diagnostic Engineer, you will become part of Siemens Energy's Remote Diagnostic Center, where you work on developing advanced analysis methods to monitor and improve the operation of gas and steam turbines worldwide.

You analyze large amounts of sensor data to identify deviations at an early stage and contribute to preventing downtime and ensuring high operational reliability for customers' facilities. The role involves close collaboration with technical specialists within areas such as vibration, performance, combustion, and control systems.

Your main tasks include:

• Develop and improve diagnostic analyses to identify faults and deviations.
• Create new analysis methods to detect further failure modes and improve preventive diagnostics.
• Analyze large datasets and time-series data from turbines.
• Work with internal analysis tools as well as programming in Python and block programming.
• Collaborate with technical experts to translate technical knowledge into effective analysis solutions.
• Maintain and further develop existing analyses to ensure high quality and accuracy.
• Support diagnostic engineers with advanced analysis tools and technical solutions.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest who enjoys combining data analysis, programming, and problem-solving. You are analytical, curious, and motivated by understanding complex technical systems.

We would like you to have:

• A university degree or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent.
• Approximately 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience programming in Python or similar languages.
• Good proficiency in working with data analysis and large datasets, e.g., using Pandas or NumPy.
• Very strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. Swedish is an advantage.
• Experience with gas and steam turbines is an advantage, especially Siemens Energy's MGT platform (SGT600–SGT800).
• Knowledge in machine learning is a plus.
