Do you want a job where you truly make a difference for one person – every day? As a personal assistant at Mossen, you support an adult with a disability in living as independent and secure a life as possible. You work closely with the user in a calm home environment where your presence, your engagement, and your way of treating others matter everything, and where your effort is noticed directly in everyday life.
You become part of a public operation working for welfare and sustainable local societal development. We collaborate with residents, associations, and business life, and see personal assistance as an important part of strengthening both public health and individual independence. With us, the focus every day is on service, quality, security, inclusion, and community – and you are an important part of that work.
Who you will be a personal assistant for
In this position, you work closely with an adult with a disability who needs support in both daily life and leisure. He lacks spoken language and communicates in other ways – through body language, expressions, and some words. He lives an active life and has several leisure interests such as his car, ATV/Segway, snowmobile, and boat. He likes music and going to concerts. He also attends his Daily Activity program. The user also has a close and tight contact with his relatives, where the collaboration between assistants and relatives is of utmost importance.
The user lives at Mossen together with another person who has their own staff group, which means you work in an environment where several teams are present and collaborate closely. The user appreciates calm, structure, and clear communication, but also humor, care, and that you bring yourself in a moderate dose – it is fine to be a bit relaxed, but always respectful.
- Support the user in personal daily routines, such as hygiene, dressing, and transfers
- Help with household chores, such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping
- Accompany to activities, errands, and social gatherings outside the home
- Create structure and security in daily life through clear, respectful, and calm communication
- Document according to routines and collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other professions
- Contribute to good treatment and a positive, secure environment at home at Mossen
Who we think you are
We believe that you enjoy working close to people, have an easy time building trust, and thrive being both stable and flexible in everyday life. You need to be secure in yourself, able to maintain calm even when much is happening, and have a warm way of meeting others. A smile, a kind word, and the ability to take things with a pinch of humor make a big difference here – it is simply easier to create security when the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
- You have a high school education, preferably with a focus on care and elderly care or children and leisure, 1-year personal assistance education.
- You have a B-driver's license and are confident driving in everyday life; a snowmobile license is desirable.
- You are respectful, attentive, and have a warm, professional approach.
- You can take responsibility and work independently, while following common routines.
- You communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- You are comfortable with simple documentation and digital tools; experience from care or personal assistance is meritorious.
Why you want to work here
Here you step into a public operation where responsibility, engagement, and joy in work are actually noticed in everyday life. We cherish ethical and environmental principles, work solution-focused, and encourage good communication and collegial support. You get a team around you where it is just as natural to ask for help as to share your own experiences, and where we learn from each other all the time.
We have a culture built on diversity, inclusion, and attentiveness – here both users and employees should feel welcome and respected. You get secure employment conditions within the public sector with holiday service and fixed working hours according to schedule, where permanent employment is the norm and probationary employment can be a good first step. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening with work every third weekend according to a rolling schedule. If you are considering moving to the area, there are municipal initiatives that can make the move smoother, making it a bit easier to take the step.
