Description
Arjeplog Municipality is one of Sweden's smallest municipalities by population but one of the largest by area.
Within the Individual and Family Care unit, we currently have two social secretaries, one case worker, 0.5 unit manager, and two assistance case workers (SoL and LSS).
As our current case worker has chosen to pursue new challenges, we are now looking for a social secretary/case worker.
You will work with all aspects of our unit, including children and youth, adults, substance abuse, economic assistance, family law, and domestic violence.
The role involves both authority exercises (decision-making) and implementation of decisions.
This means a highly varied job where continuous learning is part of the process. We are a small team that works closely together, helps each other with cases, and places great emphasis on dialogue.
In accordance with the new Social Services Act, we are working to become even more accessible and preventive. This includes a focus on advice and support conversations without prior investigation/decision, as well as utilizing exemptions from documentation requirements.
In our small municipality, we have close proximity to collaboration partners such as schools/student health services, police, health centers, and external partners like the church. We work together with great commitment to create the best possible conditions for the residents.
The work is conducted in accordance with the Social Services Act, LVU (Care of Young Persons Act), LVM (Care of Abusers Act), and other applicable legislation. You are responsible, based on delegation, for legally secure case handling and decisions in individual cases, as well as ensuring that established guidelines and routines are followed.
As a team member, you may occasionally be asked to inform, lecture, and train others about our operations, both internally and externally.
Qualifications
To ensure proper handling of cases regarding children and youth, we prioritize applicants with a social work degree. However, we also view applicants with other education deemed equivalent by the employer as interesting.
We would appreciate experience in authority exercises within any part of Individual and Family Care, such as economic assistance, children and youth, adults, substance abuse, family law, domestic violence, or death estate notifications.
You have good knowledge of current legislation. You are experienced in documentation and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. You need to be structured, flexible, solution-focused, and have good collaboration skills.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
Personal suitability is of great importance.
The position requires a valid driver's license.

Salary and Relocation Bonus
Arjeplog Municipality has decided on a salary bonus. Anyone employed in a current shortage occupation on a permanent contract in Arjeplog Municipality, with an employment date after 2018-07-01, has the opportunity to receive a salary bonus for 3 years. Social Secretary is currently a shortage occupation. To receive this bonus, you must be registered as a resident in Arjeplog Municipality during these 3 years. The salary bonus is paid out when employment exceeds:
- 12 months: 15,000 SEK
- 24 months: 22,500 SEK
- 36 months: 30,000 SEK
There is also an opportunity to apply for a relocation bonus. Those with adequate education who get a job in a shortage occupation and register as residents in Arjeplog can receive a bonus. Max 30,000 SEK upon verified receipts.
The bonus is proportional to the degree of employment.
