TRATON R&D is responsible for developing solutions for all brands within the group and is transforming to an agile way of working. We are now looking for a combined Product Owner and Layout Engineer – a key role with a strong system perspective where you turn needs into clear priorities and deliveries. You will be part of a team responsible for the overall chassis layout for Scania's bus chassis program, helping us develop the next sustainable People Transport Solutions.
About the role
As a Layout Engineer, you will split your time between coordinating design teams, managing technical interfaces, and helping to safeguard the modular system for Scania's bus chassis platform. You will work together with the team and collaborate closely with the Scrum Master to ensure valuable and efficient sprints.
We often work early in the process and play a central role in the concept development phase by managing requirements and conducting layout and feasibility studies.
Who we are
The team is part of a greater global value flow called Vehicle Architecture, with the mission to create a top-class architecture for the TRATON Modular System. Together with our colleagues at other TRATON sites, we safeguard the development process to ensure modularization at all levels.
Our talented and experienced engineers master layout, architecture, geometry assurance, and dimensional engineering, supporting both Truck and Bus chassis development globally. Together, we support the needs of the entire TRATON R&D Group.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with experience from the automotive industry and familiarity with agile ways of working. You communicate clearly, enjoy cross-functional collaboration, and feel confident making decisions in a complex technical landscape. CATIA experience is required, and strong English skills are important for the role.
We appreciate individuals who are engaged, focused, and well-organized. Strong communication skills in English are important for this role, and proficiency in Swedish is a plus. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued and everyone feels empowered to contribute.
TRATON offers
We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, TRATON Group R&D supports your career growth both locally and internationally. Benefits include a wellness allowance, bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing. We also host events for employees and their families, and Stockholm residents enjoy direct access to Södertälje via Scania Job Express buses for an easy commute.
Application
We look forward to receiving your application, consisting of your CV. We kindly ask you not to share a cover letter to ensure an efficient and unbiased recruitment process for all parties. Apply as soon as possible, no later than 2026-07-17. Screening will take place on an ongoing basis during the application period. Logical and personality tests may be used as part of the selection process, and a background check may be required for this role.
