Skåne University Hospital (Sus) encompasses hospital operations in Lund and Malmö. Sus is one of the country's largest hospitals and both educates and conducts advanced research in close collaboration with universities and colleges.

Business Area (VO) Emergency Care and Internal Medicine offers a spectrum of exciting challenges and opportunities with a focus on major public health diseases. The emergency operations are among the largest in the country with over 140,000 visits each year. Inpatient care includes emergency care wards and internal medicine wards. In recent years, outpatient care within the business area has developed with internal medicine clinics/day care units and a mobile hospital team (Sus Hospital at Home - SSH) to provide medical treatment at home equivalent to inpatient interventions. The activity has approximately 1,200 employees.

DUTIES

We now welcome three specialist physicians to our Emergency Department in Lund.

As a specialist physician at the Emergency Department, you are expected to work both cross-specialty and according to specialty. Your duties include working as a triage doctor, operational responsible doctor, team leader, and on-call doctor, which requires you to be able to adapt medical interventions in relation to patient benefit and workflow according to the principle of Smart Clinical Choices. Teamwork with several different staff categories is the basis of daily work. There are also several doctors in training at the Emergency Department in Lund. Training/supervision of these future colleagues is part of the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed physician with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have specialist competence in emergency care. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. Service, clinical skill, and independence within the main specialty in addition to obtained specialist competence are meritorious, as well as teaching experience and supervisory and research experience. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

The work is largely team-based and places high demands on decisiveness, drive, and medical competence, as well as the ability to give and receive relevant professional feedback. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in the appointment.

At a university healthcare unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This you may have acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training and as co- or main supervisor of doctoral students. Clearly describe in the application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.
