The Department of Secondary and Adult Education now offers a practical training position for psychologists for a period of 12 months. The position is designed according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations for PTP (Practical Training Position).

Do you want to be part of the work to create an accessible upper secondary school for all students? On the Department of Student Health and Coordination, several professions work to support, develop, ensure quality, and coordinate student health work at our upper secondary schools in various ways. The operations work based on assignments from schools, the administrative leadership, and the board. The goal of the operations is to contribute to removing obstacles for our students' learning and to ensure that students feel well, develop positively based on their prerequisites, with the aim of achieving the goals of education.

We are now looking for a psychologist with a strong commitment to students' learning, health, and development. The position is located under the Unit for Medical and Psychological Student Health, where the administration's personnel within health and medical care are gathered under their own unit manager. Job Responsibilities

The psychologist's assignment is to assist the school with psychological competence at all organizational levels and to contribute to school development, a well-functioning student health service to support students' development towards educational goals. The main tasks are to:

  • Supervise and inform school staff to increase understanding, approach, and knowledge regarding different functional variations and mental ill-health
  • Conduct further training for school staff
  • Conduct assessment and investigation of students and refer on if necessary
  • Conversations with individual students from a health-promoting and preventive perspective
  • Work and converse with students in groups
  • Collaborate with the student's guardians, school staff, and external authorities
  • Participate in the schools' student health teams to add psychological competence
  • Participate in the development of psychological student health
  • Participate in the school's systematic quality and development work
  • Participate in patient safety work
  • Documentation and record keeping

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Psychologist degree (300 ECTS)
  • Good digital competence
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing.

The assignment as a psychologist requires that you are secure in your professional role and have the ability to handle complex issues at both individual and system levels. You analyze problems, find solutions, and drive your work independently and structured. You adapt easily to changed prerequisites, absorb new information, and see opportunities in new situations. In addition, you communicate clearly, listen actively, and create trust in meetings with students, guardians, and colleagues. You collaborate well with other professions and work relationally, with respect and sensitivity. Furthermore, you value differences and understand how background, culture, and group membership affect oneself and others.

The position includes:

  • Professional-specific introduction
  • Supervision according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines for PTP
  • Interprofessional introduction within student health work
  • Regular network meetings for collegial learning, experience sharing, further training, and information
  • Participation in professional-specific quality and development work
  • Ongoing professional-specific support from the coordinated psychologist and operations manager
