At the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PIVA), we work together to create a safe and secure care environment for patients with significant psychiatric care needs. We are now looking for a nurse who wants to be part of an engaged team where collaboration, competence, and patient focus are at the center.

PIVA is a highly specialized unit treating patients within psychiatric involuntary care. Here, you will have the opportunity to provide psychiatric nursing across the broad spectrum of psychiatry. You will encounter everything from affective syndromes, psychoses, personality disorders, neuropsychiatric issues, substance abuse and addiction, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, to dissociative conditions. We work according to the TERMA concept, where low-affective handling is a central part of our daily routine. To strengthen safety within the work group, we conduct regular TERMA refresher courses.

At PIVA, you work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, and medical secretaries. Our staff are engaged, sensitive, competent, and proactive. We work based on evidence-based psychiatry, and our workplace meetings therefore constantly include competence development, keeping us updated on both research and new guidelines. Job Responsibilities

As a nurse here, you are responsible, together with your team, for the psychiatric nursing on the ward. The work includes, among other things, medication management, nursing care, assessments of patients' conditions, and documentation. You play a key role in creating safety and stability and work closely with both patients and colleagues.

Tasks are distributed within the team, and you are responsible for one to two patients. Our high staffing levels give you good opportunities to be present in nursing care and to have time for longer conversations with patients. Here, you have a unique opportunity to develop and become confident in your leadership role.

When you work at PIVA, you are never alone. We have a total of 14 nurses at the unit. You are part of a team where the collaboration is unique. Our staff have extensive experience and a good ability to welcome and onboard new colleagues into the work group. We have a good atmosphere and a positive culture.

Qualifications

You who are applying must be a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at level C1 or higher according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. We consider it advantageous if you have specialist education in psychiatry and/or previous work experience within psychiatry. Additionally, knowledge of our medical record system, Melior, is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about their work and confident in their role as a nurse. You have both the willingness and the ability to make both major and minor decisions. Furthermore, you can remain calm and act professionally even in pressured situations. For you, collaboration is a prerequisite for good work, and you contribute to keeping the work group enthusiastic and positive. As a person, you are driven, engaged, and view improvement and development work positively. We place great emphasis on your interest in psychiatric nursing as well as personal suitability.
