The Air Combat School (LSS) is the Air Force's joint competence center for education and development. At LSS, you will find the Air Force's schools, the Air Force's development unit, and the Swedish Armed Forces' Canine Service Unit (FHTE). LSS plays a crucial role in the development and growth of the future Air Force. The Swedish Armed Forces' Canine Service Unit is now looking for a Veterinary Administrator for the Breeding Department in Sollefteå.

About the unit:

The Swedish Armed Forces' Canine Service Unit (FHTE) is tasked with providing the Swedish Armed Forces' continuously operating combat units, as well as the Police, with service dogs. The Breeding Department in Sollefteå is responsible for, among other things, conducting matings, care and handling of breeding bitches and puppies, recruiting foster homes, placing puppies with foster homes, and providing support to foster homes. The foster home operation is divided into six regions where the work is led and distributed by a regional Canine Section Chief. FHTE has over 300 active foster homes and about 30 foster home consultants around the country who, together with the foster homes, are responsible for creating the conditions for the puppies to develop in the right direction for a future life as a service dog.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the administration of the department's veterinary medical operations
  • Responsible for the administration of the department's dog records and documentation
  • Responsible for registering puppies with the Swedish Kennel Club (SKK) and the Swedish Board of Agriculture
  • Assist the department's veterinarian with advice and appointment booking
  • Support with the department's administrative handling of documents, mail and key handling, as well as archive services
  • Support with the department's register maintenance and registry care
  • Support with other administrative tasks within the department such as booking meetings, reception, telephone coverage, preparations for meetings, etc.
  • Support with the administration of the department's economy and invoicing
  • Support with orders and purchases for the department
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of administrative routines within the department

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary school diploma or equivalent education/experience as assessed by the employer
  • Current experience in administrative work
  • Very good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office package as well as administrative systems
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Category B driver's license

  • Licensed veterinary nurse with experience of record keeping
  • Experience of purchasing and good knowledge of medicines and medical supplies
  • Experience of advising and distinguishing between acute/non-acute sick animals
  • Experience of administrative systems such as PRIO/SAP, SharePoint as well as invoicing
  • Knowledge of care hygiene
  • Experience of driving improvement work
  • Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or other government operations
  • Military driving permit for passenger car and minibus
