Seeking Driven Female Assistant in Lund/Malmö

Hello!

I am a working woman seeking a driven female assistant who can support me with practical tasks in everyday life.

I am currently recruiting at least one assistant, either part-time or full-time. Could you be the person I am looking for? Prior experience is not required; the most important factors are the right attitude and good chemistry between us.

Who will you have chemistry with?

I have a physical disability and need help with practical daily tasks such as grocery shopping, cooking, household chores, and fine motor tasks. You will be working with me, a soon-to-be 30-year-old woman who, despite a disability, lives a fairly normal life with a job, friends, and family – albeit with a slightly darker sense of humor than average.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, but also relaxing, exercising, reading, and watching TV. As an assistant, you may be asked to accompany me on trips, which I do both for work and privately. The pace of work varies according to my need for assistance, my energy levels, and my daily routine. Therefore, it is important that you are attuned to my needs but also comfortable taking a more passive role. Once you get the hang of it, you will see what needs to be done without me having to say anything. I live in a changing world, so it is important that you can adapt and step up at short notice.

I live in Lund but work in Malmö, meaning your workday may start in one city and end in the other, depending on your schedule.

About you

To "fit in," you are a woman of approximately the same age as me. You have a great sense of humor, are resilient, and take initiative. Previous experience as a personal assistant is not a requirement. The most important thing is that our chemistry is right; everything else you will learn if you have the interest.

Absolute requirements are that you write and speak fluent Swedish, that you are comfortable around cats, and that you are a non-smoker.

From experience, I know that you should live within a reasonable commuting distance to Lund/Malmö. You do not need to be a MasterChef, but you should have basic knowledge of cooking and household management, knowing, for example, not to put curry in tacos or throw a frying pan in the dishwasher. I am able to walk, but I use an electric wheelchair to get from A to B. Therefore, you need to be able to cycle at 15 km/h on flat ground – for both long and short distances – to keep up with me. It is a strong preference that you have a B-driver's license and can drive an automatic car.

Due to the nature of my employment, you must be a Swedish citizen.

I am open to discussing the percentage of employment. The position includes some weekend shifts per month and will primarily be a temporary position (substitute) as one of my assistants is on study leave. It is likely that this will eventually turn into a permanent position. Please note that the start date is in mid-August.

Recruiting is a tiring process for me, so I hope you intend to stay for a longer period – at least one year, preferably longer.

My assistants are employed by "Assistans i Balans," which means close communication with a Personal Coordinator, a thorough and clear introduction that we start immediately, personal supervision, as well as training and further education. You will receive the support you need to feel secure and professional in your role as my personal assistant.
