About the Department

Adult Psychiatry Clinic Drottninggatan is located in central Malmö. Our mission is to investigate, diagnose, assess, and treat patients with general psychiatric diagnoses. The clinic offers a wide range of treatments, including assessments, pharmacological treatment, psychological therapy with various approaches, supportive counseling, and group therapy.

The clinic has approximately 45 employees divided into three base teams. In addition to nurses, the teams include psychologists, doctors, care assistants, occupational therapists, counselors, rehabilitation coordinators, medical secretaries, physiotherapists, administrators, and receptionists. Together, we possess a broad and varied competence.

We are a staff group that works with a strong sense of teamwork and values standardized care processes with the patient in focus. At our clinic, everyone takes responsibility, we support each other, and help one another in a warm atmosphere. Responsibilities

As a counselor at our clinic, you will work both independently and in various team constellations with other professions. The role involves various forms of patient conversations, such as crisis counseling, suicide prevention talks, and supportive counseling, working in "My Plans" (Mina Planer), social investigations, and participating in team conferences and professional group meetings.

A key part of the counselor's role is collaboration. You will have joint meetings with the patient's other network, both within psychiatry (such as our inpatient wards) and with external actors (such as social services). As a counselor, you also have a responsibility to monitor the child's perspective.

Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 16:30.

Qualifications and Merits

We welcome you if you are educated as a social worker. It is highly meritorious if you are a licensed health and social care counselor with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. If you belong to a licensed profession, Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 on the Council of Europe scale are required. For non-licensed professions, good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is required.

We consider it meritorious if you have work experience in psychiatry and/or experience in social work. Furthermore, we would like you to have experience in assessment and social investigation. Experience working in "My Plans" (Mina Planer) is also considered a merit.

The ideal candidate is confident in their professional role and capable of working both independently and in a team. You value good collaboration and contribute to it by sharing your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues. You also see the positive aspects of collaboration to offer the patient the best possible care. In your work, you are solution-focused and self-initiating, with good ability to make judgments and prioritizations. Additionally, you are sensitive, driven, and engaged in your work.
