We are hiring Support Assistants in Sjöbo

We are looking for dedicated support assistants for two of our group homes in Sjöbo town center. Our group homes are homes for six people each, with various types of functional variations, who need individually adapted support and care around the clock.

Positions Available

  • 2 positions: Day/Evening shifts plus every other weekend (Full-time equivalent: 37 hours/week)
  • 2 positions: Awake night shifts plus every other weekend (Full-time equivalent: 34.33 hours/week)

We offer flexible working hours based on your preference.

At our workplace, you will work in an engaged team where collaboration, participation, and a professional attitude are a natural part of everyday life.

Our group homes are part of joint planning areas, which means that you may also work at one of the other homes in the area if needed. This provides opportunities for variety in work, knowledge exchange with more colleagues, and a collective strength in providing our customers with secure and high-quality support.

Digital Selection Process

In this recruitment, we use a digital selection process focused on your competence. Therefore, we do not accept cover letters. Instead, please ensure your CV is up to date. After you submit your application, you will be invited to complete a digital interview, which is a fundamental part of the selection process.

Job Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you are a vital support in our customers' daily lives, working in accordance with the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) with the goal of creating conditions for an independent, secure, and meaningful life. The work is based on the individual's needs, wishes, and abilities, focusing on participation, self-determination, and good treatment in line with Sjöbo Municipality's vision: A Good Life Every Day!

You provide support in daily life based on each customer's individual needs. This may involve personal care, support during meals, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and other practical tasks at home. You also motivate and support customers to participate in social activities, leisure activities, and other contexts that contribute to a meaningful daily life.

The work is varied, and no two days are alike. You work both independently and together with your colleagues to create a secure, structured, and predictable daily life for our customers. A key part of the role is to adapt your working method to the individual's needs and handle different situations with calmness, sensitivity, and professionalism.

We work based on implementation plans and are responsible for documenting interventions according to current legislation in the business system LifeCare. The position also includes delegated health and medical care tasks, as well as collaboration with relatives, guardians, and other professionals to ensure high-quality and cohesive support.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a support assistant or have other equivalent education, such as a nurse assistant education or the Child and Youth program.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working within LSS operations and feel confident in meeting people with various functional variations, even when they exhibit challenging behaviors. If you have knowledge of clarifying pedagogy, low-affective treatment, or alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), we consider it an extra plus.

To thrive with us, we see that you are a person who treats others with respect, sensitivity, and engagement. You have a pedagogical approach and work based on each individual's prerequisites, needs, and wishes. You can work independently when needed, but you also appreciate being part of a team where you support each other and together create a secure and meaningful daily life for our customers.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, flexible, and solution-focused. You have a good ability to plan and structure your work and feel comfortable with documentation and digital working methods. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We work from a salutogenic approach, focusing on the individual's strengths, participation, and opportunities. If you share this view and want to make a real difference in people's daily lives, we look forward to your application.

Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, so do not wait to submit your application!

Employment Terms

  • Salary: Monthly salary
  • Employment type: Permanent position
  • Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-10-01 or as agreed
  • Working hours: Roster/Schedule
