Do you want to work part-time with young people? We are looking for you to be a leader at our youth club "Torsdagsmys" in Malmö!

About the role

Maskrosbarn is a children's rights organization working to improve the upbringing conditions for young people whose parents have substance abuse issues, mental illness, or who have subjected them to violence. Torsdagsmys is Maskrosbarn's youth club and is open to our young people every Thursday. We do lots of different things together - from movie nights, craft nights, and game nights to going to the theater, climbing, or hosting speakers and guests.

As a leader at our youth club, you work every Thursday and collaborate with a great group of leaders and young people. Here, you can use your personality to give the young people a break from their daily routines.

Before the young people arrive, we leaders prepare and plan together, prepare food, set the table, etc. While the youth club is open, we hang out with the young people, lead games, and conduct activities. After the youth club closes, cleaning and debriefing with your colleagues are included.

As a leader at Torsdagsmys, you work every Thursday from 13:30 to 21:00 and participate in a short 30-minute debriefing, which is currently scheduled for Tuesday mornings (this may change). The position is a permanent part-time employment at 20% (8 hours per week) starting in week 40 (possibly earlier). A probation period may apply.

If you are hired by us, you will attend two internal training courses - a basic training and a method training at Torsdagsmys.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• is full of energy and dares to play, joke, and be yourself

• is warm, curious, and good at building relationships with young people

• is a good role model for our young people; has strong self-awareness, is drug-free, and has a well-functioning life

• enjoys working with youth groups and is not bothered by the occasional messiness

• is flexible and thrives in rapid change – many changes can occur during the evening regarding schedules, activity planning, and tasks

• also enjoys practical work – both during and after Torsdagsmys, we need to wash dishes and clean up after our activities

• has good self-insight and the ability to distinguish between your own feelings and the child's needs in relation to the organization's purpose. The organization's primary purpose is to strengthen the child's own development and independence by giving children the opportunity to play, engage in a health-promoting social context, and try out activities they haven't done before.

And you;

Identify yourself as a "dandelion child" (maskrosbarn) - you have a parent with substance abuse, mental illness, or who subjected you to violence. You have processed your experiences and are doing well today.
