The Child and Family Unit consists of a Senior Social Secretary, a reception team, an investigation group, a family care group (comprising two child secretaries and two foster care secretaries), and administrative support. The unit is led by a Unit Manager. Within the work group, there is a warm and positive atmosphere where we care for each other and collaborate closely in our daily work. Responsibilities

Support and Care in Tomelilla Municipality is seeking an engaged Social Secretary for the Child and Family Authority Unit.

As a Social Secretary, you are responsible for conducting investigations according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), focusing on children and young people aged 0–21. You approve and follow up on support and treatment measures aimed at creating secure and developmental environments for each child.

In acute situations, you must be able to make quick and well-founded assessments and decisions, with the child's safety and security as your primary guiding star. The work requires a high degree of independence within the framework of current legislation, guidelines, and proven experience.

You collaborate closely with the child's network and key actors such as preschools, schools, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), police, and other partners. Good treatment, trust, and a holistic view are central parts of our operations, as is ensuring that every decision and measure is shaped with the child's best interests in focus.

Through your assignment, you contribute to an operation characterized by high professionalism, trust, and respectful treatment, where every child is met with sensitivity, participation, and security.

You will become part of a competent and supportive team. In your daily work, you will receive guidance from both the Unit Manager and the Senior Social Secretary, who, together with you and your colleagues, drive the development of methods within the operation. You are also offered external supervision to strengthen your professional development.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who are an experienced social worker and have:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Worker/Socionom).
  • Experience in investigative work within social services.
  • Good knowledge of legislation within SoL and LVU.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Good collaboration skills and are also a good communicator.
  • A valid Category B driver's license is required.

To thrive in our investigation group, you need to be flexible, non-hierarchical, and have the ability to maintain a realistic and solution-focused perspective in the situations that arise in daily work as a public authority.

We would like you to be a stable and secure person with good self-awareness and professional integrity. You are sensitive to the needs of children and families and have a good ability to build trusting relationships even in vulnerable and complex life situations.

You plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a structured manner. You enjoy collaboration and actively contribute to a good work climate.

As a person, you are development-oriented and reflective, and you possess good analytical skills – qualities that contribute to both legally secure decisions and the continuous improvement of the operation.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in public authority work within child and family services based on BBIC.
  • Experience working with domestic violence.
  • Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing), Freda, Patriark, Signs of Safety.
  • Knowledge of other languages.

About the Employment

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent. Start date: According to agreement.
