Your role with us

As a family therapist, you work on psychosocial change work together with children, young people, their families, and other important people for the family. The work is carried out through qualified family conversations in different constellations and various family work. As a youth therapist, you meet the young person individually and in family conversations with the aim of motivating and being involved in the family's need for change. This takes place in Parkstadens outpatient care premises, in the families' homes, or elsewhere.

Our work always starts from a systemic perspective. The work therefore requires close cooperation with our colleagues at the authority unit that grants the intervention for the child and/or young person. You as a family therapist/youth therapist will work primarily based on a treatment model called IHF (Intensive Home-Based Family Treatment). This is a manual-based and evaluated method aimed at families with complex problems, with the goal that the child or young person can continue to live at home. The youth therapist will be part of an IHF team (Intensive Home-Based Family Work).

A complete treatment team consisting of a coordinator, family therapist, and youth therapist is available for the family. The goal of IHF is to break negative patterns and exclusion and instead increase factors such as closeness, involvement, and responsibility. IHF is a multisystemic treatment that has roots in both modern attachment psychology and social learning theory. IHF focuses on relationships and behaviors, which aligns well with other treatments children and/or young people and families receive at Parkstadens outpatient care.

To succeed with this treatment work, the team will have flexible working hours, meaning the working hours are laid out based on the needs of the children/young people and families. This implies some evening work, for example, at the beginning of a case when motivational work is in focus, there may be more evenings as this then transitions to other times. One should be prepared to work 2 evenings a week, but you as a therapist control the time together with the rest of the team. It will also mean that you as a member of the team are responsible for an on-call phone for one week at a time, which is distributed among the number of people in the Team. The team consists of 7 people, so every 7th week you are on call, this so that the children/young people and families feel support to continue their change process.

You will be given the opportunity for continuous competence development in the work.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a social work degree or other university/college education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant. It is meritorious if you have further education in family treatment and/or if you have education and experience working with intensive home-based family treatment (IHF). Furthermore, a few years of experience in psychosocial treatment work with children, parents, and families is required. You have a good ability to create alliances with young people and master various behavior-focused interventions. You who apply to us have a B-driving license to easily get around in the municipality.

Since communication and documentation are a large part of your work, good Swedish in speech and writing is required. Of course, you are computer literate and handle the Office package in your daily work. You have good knowledge of various documentation systems as well as knowledge of Journal Digital.

Parkstadens outpatient care work requires that you are good at using your own resources within given frameworks for the best result. The ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally, is a prerequisite for the work. You cooperate well with people in different contexts and functions.

We place great importance on your ability to work independently but also collaborate with others, be flexible and structured with knowledge/experience to drive change processes in goal-formulated treatment assignments.
