The Swedish Inspectorate of Care and Social Services (IVO) is in a development phase where our mandate is growing and placing increased demands on our supervision. To meet this, we are strengthening our operations and are now looking for two investigators for the Director General's office, one on a permanent basis and one on a fixed-term contract.
About the Job
As an investigator in the office, you will work both strategically and operationally. The position requires a high degree of collaboration, both within and outside the agency. The assignment is characterized by both fast-moving, high-priority issues and long-term assignments. The office coordinates the agency's dialogues with the Government Offices and certain other external contacts at a high level. The office's mandate also includes internal coordination, such as briefings for the Director General, the agency's handling of consultations, and monitoring of operations.
Your main tasks as an investigator will include:
- coordinating contacts at the management level with agencies and other actors,
- coordinating the monitoring of operations,
- investigating, analyzing, and preparing materials for various types of strategic issues,
- preparing the Director General's participation in external contexts, which includes contacts with external stakeholders as well as internal coordination within the agency,
- developing working methods and routines,
- responding to incoming correspondence.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree in social sciences or another subject area that IVO considers relevant,
- several years of experience in qualified work at a high level with an investigative and coordinating character,
- good and current knowledge of overarching issues concerning public administration,
- good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience of similar work at the Government Offices, another state agency, or a politically governed organization.
Personal Qualities
To succeed in the role, you need to be analytical and have the ability to see the big picture, identify connections, analyze complex issues, and link details to overarching goals. You work in a structured and independent manner, with the ability to prioritize and drive several parallel assignments forward.
You are communicative and stylistically secure, and can express yourself clearly in speech and writing, as well as adapt messages to different target groups. Furthermore, you are collaborative and relationship-building, with ease in building trusting contacts both internally and externally. Finally, you are flexible and thrive in a changing environment where you switch between strategic and operational issues.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
What IVO Can Offer You
We offer a developing role in a dynamic knowledge organization where you contribute to developing modern and effective supervision. We are constantly improving our working methods and strive for a composition of employees that reflects the diversity of society.
