Student Information Officer at ST Union

ST (Union for Education and Research) is the largest union within the public sector, with 100,000 members working in government agencies, authorities, companies, universities, colleges, and state-funded foundations. ST also has members in private companies connected to public service missions.

ST's student activities work to inform students about the labor market in the public sector and union organization, as well as to recruit student members and doctoral students. We want to ensure that student members understand their rights and get a good start in their working lives, while guiding and inspiring them toward job opportunities in the state sector.

As a union, we work for a sustainable working life and aim to improve members' employment conditions regarding salary, development opportunities, influence, and participation. The union is growing and is in an exciting period of change where many ways of working and methods are under development, offering you a varied and developmental job.

ST is a member of TCO (Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees) and is non-partisan. When we take a stance on political issues, we do so based on members' interests and with the aim of improving their conditions, never based on party politics. Job Responsibilities

As a Student Information Officer, you work with arranging activities focused on recruiting student members to ST and laying the foundation for them to continue as members after their studies. You make ST's activities and union values visible by giving classroom presentations, arranging lectures, hosting info booths and activities with partner associations, and participating in fairs and labor market days at your placement location as well as nearby universities and colleges. Some travel is therefore included in the position.

To work as a Student Information Officer, you must be outgoing and enjoy meeting new people. You are responsible and have good collaboration skills.

Together with your work group, you are primarily responsible for planning working hours and carrying out activities. Planning also takes place in consultation with the student representative at the start of each term. In the group, you have great opportunities to influence the work and how and where you meet students. The working time as a Student Information Officer is 20 hours per month.

What can we offer you?

  • A merit-building and flexible part-time job where you plan the work together with your colleagues.
  • Training in communication, member recruitment, and union issues.
  • 147 SEK per hour + 12% vacation pay. You receive term-based salary development.
  • Shift allowance for holidays and inconvenient working hours.
  • Health allowance.
