Ödeshög Municipality is located in southwestern Östergötland, with Omberg to the north, Vättern to the west, the fertile Östergötland plain to the east, and the deep forests of Holaveden to the south. The E4 highway runs through the municipality, making it easy to reach both Linköping and Jönköping by car in 40 minutes. Approximately 5,400 people live in Ödeshög Municipality, which is the largest employer in the area with around 400 permanent employees across four different administrations.

About your workplace, the Municipal Office

The Municipal Office is a workplace where approximately 20 employees with various roles work across different types of administrations. The workplace is characterized by an egalitarian and friendly atmosphere where it is easy to feel at home!

As a Board Secretary, you will organizationally belong to the support function of the Social Administration, where the Social Director will be your direct manager. The support team consists, in addition to your role, of a Development Manager, a Business Developer, a Medical Responsible for Rehabilitation (MAR), and a Medical Responsible for Healthcare (MAS). In addition, you will be part of the Social Administration's management group, which means you will support the Social Director in her work and collaborate with the administration's unit managers. The group of unit managers currently consists of 7 managers covering different areas within care and social services.

Responsibilities

As a Board Secretary, you have a coordinating role where you are responsible for the administration of the board process and ensure that documents are handled in a correct and legally secure manner. The work includes administering meeting documents and invitations, writing minutes, handling incoming mail and email to the administration, and registering documents. You will have close contact with our elected officials and serve as an important link between the administration and politics.

The role also involves conducting investigations within the administration's area of responsibility and monitoring and analyzing external issues that may affect operations.

As part of the administration's management group, you contribute administrative and strategic competence and participate in the development of the administration's working methods and processes. Together with the municipality's other board secretaries, registrar, and municipal secretary, you also drive and develop the municipality's administrative processes forward.

You work digitally throughout the entire board process in the municipality's case management system and prepare materials and presentations for the political level.

In the role of Board Secretary, you will also be the editor for the Social Administration regarding the municipality's website and intranet, thereby becoming part of the municipality's web editorial team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education in social sciences or equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent. We also expect you to have good knowledge of politically governed organizations and an understanding of the board process, as well as knowledge of public law, such as the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act.

It is particularly important that you have an interest and willingness to help and support in the various issues that reach you. We believe that a valuable trait in you is your ability to be clear, communicative, and flexible, and that in your role, you are an important representative of the municipality and the Social Administration. You act professionally, with high integrity, and contribute to conveying the values and approach that our operations stand for.

Since you will investigate, produce texts, and write minutes, it is important to us that you have good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You enjoy working in teams, are meticulous, self-reliant, and able to prioritize your work effectively.

It is desirable that you have good system familiarity, and it is particularly meritorious if you have worked in Evolution and/or Lifecare. It is also meritorious if you have previously worked in administrative roles and conducted investigations independently.

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Permanent position.
  • Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01. Start date is subject to agreement.
  • Working hours: Daytime.
