Do you want a key role in creating safe and secure environments for research, education, and collaboration? We are now looking for a Fire Safety Coordinator who wants to contribute their expertise to the continued development of Linköping University.
Here, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment in a knowledge-intensive environment where collaboration, development, and long-term safety work are in focus.
About the Job
As a Fire Safety Coordinator, you will have a central role in driving, developing, and coordinating the university's fire safety work. Your work contributes to ensuring that students, employees, and visitors can work, study, and spend time in a safe environment every day.
You will become the university's internal expert in fire safety and have a clear and important role in our fire safety organization. You will develop advice and guidelines for, among other things, systematic fire safety work and serve as a qualified support to the property unit during renovations and new constructions.
The assignment also includes serving as the supervisor for flammable and explosive goods.
The university's safety and fire safety work is conducted collectively in a network format and in close collaboration with various parts of the organization. This means you will work both strategically and operationally close to the business, with the opportunity to influence and develop working methods across the entire university. The position also includes tasks related to other occupational health and safety issues, as well as some administration.
About You
We are looking for you who want to use your expertise in fire safety, occupational health, and security in a multifaceted organization. You are confident in fire safety matters and can handle them in a complex organization in a professional, objective, and trustworthy manner. You make well-considered assessments where the needs of the business and the consequences for both individuals and the organization are weighed together.
You have a holistic view and understand how your decisions affect the organization in the long term. You can place individual issues in a larger organizational context and actively contribute to sustainable, practical, and safe solutions for the university.
The role relies heavily on relationships, trust, and the ability to bring others along with you. Therefore, you need to have excellent collaboration skills and be adept at creating and maintaining professional relationships with managers, fire safety representatives, and other stakeholders. You are confident in your role, clear in your communication, and enjoy contributing knowledge in training situations. As a specialist, you drive issues independently, systematically, and with good judgment.
We want you to have:
- relevant education in fire safety, risk management, or occupational health
- good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
- Category B driver's license
It is meritorious if you have:
- a degree as a fire engineer, occupational health engineer, or equivalent
- experience in fire safety work related to the handling of flammable and explosive goods
- experience in systematic fire safety work in a complex organization
- experience in other safety work, such as chemical safety or rescue services
- experience in systematic occupational health and safety work
Your Workplace
You will become part of the Employer and Environment Unit, a central LiU specialist unit with broad competence in occupational health, employment law, fire safety, laboratory safety, and the environment. Here you will have colleagues with specialist knowledge in several related areas and a context where collaboration and knowledge exchange are a natural part of everyday life.
