Do you want to use your skills to make a real difference?

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes for the entire family. At AjaBajaCancer, we work to make everyday life easier for families living with childhood cancer – through support, community, activities, and help when it is needed most.

Since our founding in 2018, we have grown into an organization that supports hundreds of families across Sweden every year. But we are far from finished. Our ambition is to help even more families and continue developing our support where it is needed most.

Now we are looking for you who want to be part of this journey.

We are seeking an accountant with administrative expertise who wants to become a key part of our small, dedicated team of nine employees. Here, you will have a central role in the operations and the opportunity to combine finance, administration, and operational development in an organization where every effort makes a difference.

We are looking for someone who wants to use their skills where they make a real difference – and who is motivated just as much by our mission as by the role itself.

About the Role

This is a broad and varied role for you who enjoy creating structure, taking responsibility, and making things work.

You will work closely with the CEO and serve as an important support for the entire organization. The role covers ongoing finance, administration, and reporting, as well as the development of routines, processes, and working methods.

Because we are a relatively small organization, you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and contribute far beyond the traditional accountant role.

Examples of Responsibilities

Finance and Follow-up

  • Ongoing bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Invoicing and handling supplier invoices
  • Payroll administration
  • Budgeting and financial follow-up
  • Monthly and annual accounts
  • Contact with auditors, authorities, and external partners

Administration and Operational Support

  • Administrative support to the CEO and operations
  • Management of member registers and CRM systems
  • Documentation, archiving, and internal routines
  • Orders, dispatches, and practical coordination
  • Contribute to the development of working methods, routines, and processes

Grants and Funding

  • Identify relevant foundations and trusts
  • Participate in applications for project and operational support
  • Reporting and follow-up to funders
  • Contribute to impact measurement and operational follow-up
Who are you?

We believe you are a person who thrives when given responsibility and the chance to create order in an organization with high engagement and many contact points.

You are structured and detail-oriented without getting stuck in the details. You enjoy finding solutions, improving working methods, and supporting others in their work. At the same time, you are driven by the desire to contribute to something greater than just numbers and reports.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • Post-secondary education in economics or equivalent experience
  • Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, and financial administration
  • Good knowledge of payroll, taxes, and relevant regulations
  • Good system proficiency and very good skills in Excel
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is an advantage if you have experience in the non-profit sector, grant funding, or working with foundation and trust applications.

Why choose AjaBajaCancer?

With us, you get more than just a job.

You become part of an organization with an important social mission and a strong commitment to the families we serve. We are a small team with short decision-making paths, high ambition, and a lot of heart. Here, you have the opportunity to influence, develop, and help build the future of AjaBajaCancer together with dedicated colleagues, volunteers, donors, and partners.

We believe that many who choose to work with us do so for the combination of professional challenges, significant personal responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to something larger than themselves.

As a non-profit organization, we have a responsibility to use our resources in the best possible way. This means that our funds should primarily go to the families we exist to serve. Therefore, we cannot always compete with salary levels in the private sector. However, we offer something else – the opportunity to see the impact of your work every day, be part of a dedicated team, and contribute to making a real difference for families living with childhood cancer.

And above all – you get to help create moments of light, community, and support for families when they need it most.

About AjaBajaCancer
