Sundsvall District Court is a medium-sized court that shares management and premises with the Rent and Tenancy Tribunal in Sundsvall and the Legal Aid Authority. In total, we have around 50 employees.

About the role

As a Court Clerk, you play a central role in the court's daily operations. Together with a dedicated team of clerks, judges, and notaries, you contribute to ensuring that cases and matters are handled legally and efficiently. The work is varied, social, and requires both structure and flexibility – perfect for you who thrive in a dynamic environment.

Main responsibilities

As a Court Clerk, you will:

  • Process cases and matters together with judges and notaries
  • Schedule court days and summon parties to hearings
  • Handle written correspondence
  • Dispatch judgments and decisions and perform other administrative tasks
  • Maintain daily contact with parties, representatives, authorities, and the public
  • Take notes and record minutes during court proceedings

About you

In the role of Court Clerk, you are meticulous, independent, and deliver high-quality work. You have a strong ability to plan, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Your communicative and collaborative personality ensures that you treat people professionally and build good relationships. You are solution-oriented, independent, and enjoy responsibility, while contributing to the team's common goals.

To be considered for employment, you must meet high demands regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means you uphold democratic values and the state values that govern the operations of the Swedish Courts. We require that you comply with applicable laws.

Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities.

Requirements

  • Completed and approved upper secondary education
  • Good computer skills, including the Office package and other document management systems
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Post-secondary education relevant to the work, e.g., Paralegal training or other legal clerk training
  • At least two years of experience working as a Court Clerk at a district court

Practical information

The employment is for an indefinite period, which may begin with a six-month probationary period. Start date is ASAP.
