The Faculty Office at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media is part of Mid Sweden University's operational support. Around 25 people work here in Sundsvall and Östersund, assisting the faculty's management and departments with decision support, analyses, and administrative support.

We are now looking for a case officer who will work as management support for the Dean and the department management at one of the faculty's departments.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include coordination, administration, and follow-up towards the Dean and department management, including handling the management group's meetings. This may involve, for example, investigations, analyses, development projects, and drafting official letters. The role also includes participating in the planning of future work.

The tasks are shaped in dialogue with the department management and your immediate supervisor and may vary over time. Simpler administrative tasks may also be included if needed. The role also involves supporting the Dean in planning, forecasting, and follow-up of outcomes within undergraduate education. This is a new task where the case officer is also expected to contribute to developing faculty-wide routines and working methods in collaboration with colleagues at the Faculty Office and other departments. Administrative tasks at the Faculty Office may also occur.

The responsibilities may be broadened based on requirements from the university and faculty management. The position is located at the Faculty Office but operates primarily towards the department. The work is performed on campus.

Your Background

You have a university education at least at the bachelor's level and thrive in collaborating and working with people.

You are proficient in digital tools and the Office package, and have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and are also confident in communicating in English.

Merits include:

  • Experience of similar tasks at a university or higher education institution.
  • Very good ability to handle issues in dialogue with managers, employees, and colleagues.

Your Qualities

The tasks place high demands on independence, accuracy, teamwork, service orientation, initiative, sensitivity, flexibility, and numerical aptitude.

You take personal responsibility, plan and organize work efficiently, meet deadlines, and can reprioritize if necessary. The work can be hectic at times and requires good ability to prioritize and sort tasks.

Since the work involves many contacts with teachers, management, and various functions within support services, great importance will be placed on your personal qualities, as well as initiative and teamwork and service skills.

Employment and Start Date

The employment is a fixed-term appointment comprising 50% of full-time from 2026-10-01 or as agreed, but no later than 2027-06-30.

Place of Work: Sundsvall
