Description of the unit
You will belong to the authority's societal planning unit. Here, we are responsible for a wide range of areas including: housing supply, housing and energy subsidies, climate adaptation, cultural environment, societal planning, processing of appeals, legal consultations, administration of general elections, and permitting in various areas.
The current position will fall under the cultural environment sector. This function works to ensure that national cultural environment goals are implemented in the county. We work to preserve and develop culturally and historically valuable buildings, environments, and ancient monuments as sources of experience and knowledge about our county. The function consists of six employees within archaeology and building conservation.
This is a fixed-term appointment (vacancy) for one of our employees who will be on leave to try out another job. When the vacancy ends, it may become relevant for us to recruit for a permanent position.
Your responsibilities
The County Administrative Board is responsible for ancient monuments and finds in the county. You will process cases regarding ancient monuments in accordance with Chapter 2 of the Cultural Environment Act. This includes, for example, permit and consultation cases, logging cases, and advisory services.
The position also involves handling grants for the management of valuable cultural environments and the care of ancient and cultural landscapes.
The role may also include some coordination tasks as part of the cultural environment function's mandate.
Your qualifications
Your personal suitability for the position is important to us. Therefore, in the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your experience, knowledge, and attributes.
Requirements for the position:
- An academic degree with a focus on Nordic archaeology or other education we assess as equivalent.
- Experience in archaeological fieldwork.
- A Category B driver's license, as travel within the role may occur.
The following are particularly meritorious:
- Experience in inventorying ancient monuments, for example within archaeological investigations.
- Experience in cultural-historical investigations and valuation.
- Experience in northern Swedish archaeology.
- Good knowledge of the provisions of the Cultural Environment Act.
The following are also meritorious:
- Experience in case processing and/or financial accounting at an authority.
- Experience working with GIS.
You will be part of a work group with colleagues having similar responsibilities. Therefore, teamwork skills are important. You need to enjoy working in a group while also being independent and taking responsibility for your tasks. You work systematically and are clear in your communication.
