About Us

You will become part of the Administration within the Women's Health and Obstetrics division at Danderyd Hospital. This division comprises two sections – Gynecology and Obstetrics. Together, we are tasked with providing the operations with professional, efficient, and high-quality healthcare administrative support in collaboration with other professional groups.

Within the administration, administrators, physician administrators, and medical secretaries work in close collaboration. As a medical secretary, you will work in both outpatient and inpatient care. Our work environment is characterized by a strong team spirit, good cooperation across section boundaries, and genuine commitment to one another. We help each other, share knowledge, and develop together.

About the Role

As a medical secretary, you play a key role in ensuring efficient and high-quality healthcare administration. We offer stimulating and varied work with significant personal responsibility, while you become part of a team where collaboration is a natural part of everyday life.

You will work closely with your colleagues and contribute to the smooth and patient-safe functioning of the operations.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Printing and handling of healthcare documentation
  • Diagnosis and procedure coding
  • Registration of healthcare contacts and visits
  • Handling of mail and referrals

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Education as a medical secretary.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and work in new digital systems.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Documented experience working as a medical secretary in both outpatient and inpatient care.
  • Passed a basic course in disease classification, for example via Emendor or Vårdinformatik.

Employment Type

Permanent position.

Working hours are during the day, Monday–Friday.

About the Division

Women's Health and Obstetrics is one of the hospital's largest divisions, with approximately 600 employees. We provide acute and specialized care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The division is divided into the Obstetrics and Gynecology sections.

The Obstetrics section includes delivery services, specialist maternal care with ultrasound clinics, antenatal units, elective cesarean sections, and postpartum care. We are one of Sweden's largest delivery units.

The Gynecology section consists of an outpatient clinic, emergency clinic, operating department, and inpatient ward. We perform benign gynecology with a focus on minimally invasive surgery. We have an NHV assignment within advanced pelvic floor surgery. On our operating department, both planned and emergency procedures are performed, including robotic surgery.

We have a significant R&D assignment involving the education of medical students, midwifery students, and resident doctors from general practice and emergency medicine. We have a large clinical research activity with at least two newly registered doctoral students each year.
