At our university, research and education are conducted with a view towards the future. Our proximity to the business community, both locally and globally, gives us long reach and the opportunity for change that leaves a mark. All that is needed is a place where ideas have room to meet and grow. That is what we have created – and you are invited. Change starts here!

The Faculty of Technology (FTK) has a broad operation spanning eight different departments through which Linnaeus University provides education and conducts research. The engineering programs range from short courses lasting a few weeks or months to five-year Master of Science in Engineering programs. The research responds to societal needs in several broad fields – both short-term and long-term – with basic research and applied research in collaboration with societal actors.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is part of the knowledge environments Advanced Materials and Green Sustainable Development, as well as the "Linnaeus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA)", which is one of Linnaeus University's top research environments. The department conducts research in the fields of applied mechanics, maintenance and quality systems, production systems, and power electronics. The research is conducted in close collaboration with both other departments and the business community.

The Department of Electrical Engineering is responsible for the Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering and the Master's program in Renewable Power Systems. In addition to these programs, we contribute to several educational programs at FTK. Doctoral education is not organized as a separate subject but takes place within Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another related subject.
