Job Description

As a teacher in SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) / Swedish as a Second Language, you are responsible for teaching adult students with various linguistic backgrounds the Swedish language. The purpose is to provide students with linguistic skills so they can participate in society and working life, as well as prepare them for further studies. You create an inclusive and language-developing education based on the students' needs and backgrounds.

Your duties will primarily consist of:

• Planning, implementing, and following up on Swedish language instruction according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum for SFI, and as needed, Swedish, Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language (Grund).
• Differentiating instruction based on students' language levels, educational backgrounds, and needs.
• Assessing and documenting students' language development and assigning grades in accordance with current regulations.
• Collaborating with colleagues in work teams and study and career counselors. Participate in the school's systematic quality work and development work. As needed, conduct mapping of newly arrived individuals' language levels and needs. Promote integration and intercultural learning in teaching.

Qualifications

Teacher certification with eligibility to teach Swedish as a second language (at least 30 credits), preferably with a focus on adult education.

Experience teaching within SFI, knowledge of validation, work-integrated SFI, vocational Swedish, or language-integrated education (e.g., SFI + vocational adult education), as well as additional subject eligibility, are meritorious.

Good digital competence and experience in teaching with the help of digital tools. Ability to create a safe, accessible, and inclusive learning environment.

Salary: Monthly salary.
