Job Description
We are looking for an engaged and confident student assistant who wants to be part of our team within the adapted school. Here, you will work closely with students who need support to develop both academically and socially. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, special education teachers, special needs pedagogues, student assistants, and other staff, where you play a key part in creating a safe and structured learning environment. The work requires a calm approach, a professional attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
The position involves supporting students throughout the school day based on their individual needs. You will continuously use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and visual supports in your communication to create predictability. The assignment involves using a low-arousal approach in all situations, even when a student's school day is challenging. You will build relationships that create safety and trust, while collaborating with educators on planning, adjustments, and follow-up. The work may also include care duties, practical tasks, and documentation according to the organization's routines.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience working in adapted schools and who have a calm and stable personality. You need to be confident in a low-arousal working method and have a clear relational approach where the student's needs and integrity are always at the center. You have good ability to work with clear pedagogy and can use AAC in daily work.
A valid B-class driver's license is required for the role. It is an advantage if you have education in child and youth care, special pedagogy, healthcare and social care, or other relevant fields, as well as experience working both independently and in teams.
