RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and reliable teaching assistant who wants to be part of our team within the adapted school. Here, you will work closely with students who need support to develop both academically and socially. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, special needs teachers, special educators, teaching assistants, and other staff, where you play a key part in creating a safe and structured learning environment. The work requires a calm demeanor, a professional attitude, and good interpersonal skills.

The position involves supporting students throughout the school day based on their individual needs. You will continuously use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and visual supports in your communication to create predictability. The assignment requires you to use a low-arousal approach in all situations, even when a student's school day is challenging. You build relationships that create safety and trust, while collaborating with educators on planning, adaptations, and follow-up. The work may also involve various types of care and practical tasks, as well as documentation according to the organization's routines.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with experience working in adapted primary schools and who has a calm and stable personality. You need to be confident in using a low-arousal approach and have a clear relational attitude where the student's needs and integrity are always at the center. You should have good skills in working with clear pedagogy and using AAC in daily work.

A valid Class B driver's license is required for this role. It is an advantage if you have education in child and youth activities, special education, care and nursing, or another relevant focus, as well as experience working both independently and in teams.
