The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHL) envisions understanding, explaining, and improving the world and society we live in from a health and life sciences perspective. The work within the faculty is based on Linnaeus University's four core values: innovation, curiosity, proximity, and utility. As one of five partner institutions within FHL, the Department of Psychology is included. Within the department, we are approximately 30 employees offering a broad range of courses and educational programs at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. Our department now needs reinforcement from an engaged colleague. We are looking for a psychologist with clinical experience and broad competence in neuropsychological assessment, psychological treatment with a CBT focus, and good theoretical knowledge, preferably as a specialist psychologist and/or licensed psychotherapist. We also welcome applicants who have particularly solid experience in any of these areas, even if the competence profile does not cover all parts.
Subject area for the position: Psychology, clinical
Location (permanent): Växjö. Since Linnaeus University is located in both Växjö and Kalmar, travel between the locations may occur.
Extent of employment: Fixed-term position 50–100% for 12 months

Job Description
The duties include planning and administering teaching, teaching, and supervising students at the undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as examining students at the undergraduate level in psychology. You are expected primarily to work with teaching within the department's broad educational mandate, based on your own competence. The work is planned and carried out together in working groups, so teamwork skills and flexibility are of great importance. The work is expected to be performed on-site, but there is an opportunity to work partially from home. Commissioned education and collaboration with the surrounding community may be included in the duties. Travel between the university's two campuses occurs as the department has operations in both locations. The duties also include following developments within the own subject area and general societal development that is significant for the teacher's work at the university.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as a University Lecturer (Universitetsadjunkt) at Linnaeus University. (Employment Order Ref: LNU 2012/359, revised 2020-06-04) refers to those who have completed a Master's degree in psychology or have equivalent competence, and have demonstrated pedagogical skill. Equivalent competence generally refers to a degree from a foreign university with essentially the same level and quality as a Swedish Master's degree.
For eligibility for this position, the following are required:
- Licensed psychologist
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
Merits include:
- Licensed psychotherapist with a CBT focus, or alternatively documented experience in psychological treatment with a CBT focus
- Documented clinical experience in neuropsychological assessment
- Good theoretical knowledge in clinical psychology relevant to the position's duties
- Documented pedagogical skill through teaching, supervision, examination, course development, and course planning
- Completed university-level pedagogical education
- Specialist in psychological treatment/psychotherapy or neuropsychology
Evaluation Criteria
In the assessment of applicants, special weight will be placed on documented clinical experience as a licensed psychologist relevant to the content of the position. Particularly meritorious is clinical competence in psychological treatment with a CBT focus and good theoretical knowledge in clinical psychology. Competence in neuropsychological assessment is also considered. For applicants with lecturer competence, the research activity must have been conducted within clinical psychology. Great importance will also be attached to pedagogical skill and the ability to contribute to the department's educational mandate.
Meritorious is also previous experience of teaching at a university, distance teaching, and via web-based learning platforms, as well as documented teamwork skills.
Based on the needs of the operation, personal qualities such as responsibility, initiative-taking, teamwork skills, and professional integrity are important evaluation criteria.
When the university hires new teachers, applicants shall be selected who, through a qualitative holistic assessment of competence and skill, are judged to have the best prerequisites for carrying out and developing current duties and contributing to the successful development of the operation.
