At the Music School, children and young people develop their creativity through music, theater, and art. We offer instruction in singing, instruments, theater, and creative arts in an inspiring environment. The activity is open to everyone up to upper secondary school, with lessons in our facilities and at some of the municipality's schools. We are now looking for a music teacher who can teach children and young people piano and singing.
The position is 50% in total. Of this, 30% is a permanent position and 20% is a fixed-term position with the possibility of extension. The fixed-term part (20%) concerns piano instruction.
Description of duties
Your duties consist of planning and conducting instruction for children and young people aged 6–19 in piano and singing, individually and in groups, as well as participating in organizing concerts and performances. The instruction takes place mainly in the Music School's facilities in central Åstorp, close to train and bus connections. In addition to the above, you should be involved in outward-facing activities together with other colleagues. Planning and administrative tasks are included.
We place great emphasis on collaboration skills, pedagogical competence, and the ability to see the big picture.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who can inspire, motivate, and engage both your students and other children and young people you meet.
- Have the ability to meet each young person at their own level and help them develop further, both individually and in interaction with others.
- Consider participation a matter of course, create conditions for each student's creative expression, and help them grow.
- Have competence in different genres.
- Enjoy collaborating and working in projects, preferably cross-artistic.
- Have good digital competence.
- Have thoughts and ideas on how we can create the music school of the future together.
Åstorp Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting, taking into account the employee's experience, competence, and current market conditions. An annual salary review is conducted where employees are salaried based on our salary criteria: clarity, courage, responsiveness, engagement, and quality. In Åstorp Municipality, the employment is covered by the General Agreement (Allmänna Bestämmelser).
Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date 2026-08-17 or as agreed.
Working hours: Schedule. Afternoons and evenings. Weekend work may occur.
