About the Workplace

Frostaskolan is centrally located in Hörby, near the museum, public library, and Music School. In the immediate vicinity, you will also find Hörby Sportcenter, Lågehallarna – where students have their physical education classes – and the Lågedammarnas Nature Reserve. Frostaskolan consists of units for grades F-6 (preschool to grade 6) and leisure-time centers, as well as grades 7-9. In total, there are approximately 500 students at the school. In 2029, the secondary school section will move to a newly built school to be constructed on the Frostaskolan school campus.

A short walking distance from Frostaskolan is a building housing the special education group for grades 7-9.

The operations at Frostaskolan are characterized by inclusion, security, knowledge, and optimism for the future. We have high expectations for our students, and we want them to feel confidence in their own abilities and experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from succeeding and overcoming difficulties. Municipality-wide focus areas are language development, mathematics, and attendance.

We are looking for a Special Educator/Teacher for Frostaskolan

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a certified teacher/special educator/special pedagogue who, together with one of our pedagogues, wants to work and lead the work in a special education group, where the students' need for support, structure, and security is the focus. You will also collaborate with various subject teachers to develop teaching and increase student goal achievement based on the operations' and current regulatory documents' goals and guidelines.

You are responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching, conduct assessments, and work to promote students' health, learning, and development. In addition to your closest colleague and relevant subject teachers, you will also collaborate with mentors, EHT (Educational and Health Team), students, and guardians.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher in primary school/special educator/special pedagogue with eligibility for grades 7-9.
• You have experience working in small/special education groups and with students in need of special support. Knowledge of NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) is an advantage.
• You have a clear goal focus, based on regulatory documents, and use assessment and follow-up as tools to develop your teaching and thereby strengthen each student's learning.
• You have clear and secure leadership in your teaching and are a positive role model.
• You have a good ability to adapt teaching based on students' different needs and prerequisites.
• You have the ability to build good and trusting relationships with both students, guardians, and staff.
• You are sensitive, flexible, solution-focused, and secure in your professional role.
• You are engaged, want to make a difference, and have the students' best interests, regarding learning and health, in focus.
