Job Responsibilities

Are you a highly skilled educator who wants to work on pedagogical development alongside your teaching duties? Then you might be the person we are looking for as we seek a Senior Teacher (Förstelärare) for Dammfriskolan. The school currently has 5 dedicated Senior Teachers who carry out pedagogical development on behalf of the management team. The role focuses on:

• Developing teaching to increase quality and goal achievement.

In close consultation with the school leadership, you will have excellent conditions to plan, implement, and evaluate the development initiatives you are responsible for.

Your development initiatives inspire your colleagues and contribute to higher goal achievement. At the same time, the majority of your position involves teaching. You deliver varied, creative, and engaging teaching for our students, both individually and in teams. You find strategies to reach every student and contribute to increased goal achievement. You plan, assess, evaluate, and develop the pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's governing documents and systematic quality work. The Senior Teacher works at their own workplace but also has a partly municipal/administrative-wide assignment by spreading good examples.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with eligibility in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language (SvA) for grades 4–6, alternatively 1–6 or 4–9. To be considered for the Senior Teacher role, you must be able to document, through records, at least four years of well-regarded work after graduation involving teaching within one or several employments in the school system. Furthermore, we would appreciate if you have experience in mentoring other teachers or driving pedagogical development processes. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work effectively with relevant digital tools.

Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. To fit as a Senior Teacher with us, it is important that you are analytical, can work long-term, and enjoy having an active role in the school's development work where you lead processes for increased goal achievement. You hold the perspective that "Children do right if they can".
