Job Description

As a teacher, you work to ensure that students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their individual prerequisites. Your duties include planning, teaching, and assessment, as well as evaluating and developing the pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's governing documents. Since Malmö Restaurant School does not have its own sports hall, you, as the PE teacher, are responsible for planning and coordinating the teaching in collaboration with external partners, including booking facilities.

Together with colleagues, you work to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff. You also contribute to the quality and development work at the school.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Teaching license
• Qualification to teach Physical Education and Health at the upper secondary level
• Experience in teaching Physical Education and Health
• Familiarity with using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Good understanding of the school's goals and governing documents
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits:

• Qualification to teach other subjects
• Experience teaching at upper secondary vocational programs, introduction programs, and/or adapted upper secondary schools
• Experience collaborating with external partners regarding the planning, booking, and implementation of PE lessons
• Good English in speech and writing.

You adapt the teaching to the student's and group's prerequisites and prior knowledge through a creative approach and excellent pedagogical skills. Your work style is characterized by good structure, and you prioritize and organize tasks efficiently. Furthermore, you contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and listen attentively to your surroundings. You also understand how students' backgrounds, culture, and group affiliation affect learning, and you create an inclusive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

About the Workplace

Malmö Restaurant School is a vocational upper secondary school in central Malmö. Here, we educate students who see a future in the restaurant and food industry with its various specializations consisting of cooking, catering, delicatessen, service, bakery, and charcuterie. The school offers national programs, introduction programs, as well as an adapted upper secondary school. We are not just a school; we also run two popular lunch restaurants and our own confectionery. For us, it is just as natural to work for the city's social sustainability as it is to choose environmentally sustainable and fairly produced raw materials for a better world.
