Resource Pedagogue at Bjäre School in Båstad Municipality

Båstad Municipality is located on the scenic Bjäre Peninsula, surrounded by the sea on three sides. Here you will find beautiful nature, good transport links, and an active community with full services. Our location, with two railway stations, proximity to the airport, and motorway access, makes the municipality an attractive place to both live and work.

Our vision is to be a role model for a healthy life and sustainable entrepreneurship – a place where people want to contribute, grow, and develop. As an employer, we offer a stimulating and developing work environment, where our core values are built on professionalism, joy in work, and respect.

Together, we make a difference every day by providing good service to our residents, with engagement, collaboration, and a desire to develop.

At Bjäre School, we believe in every student's right to succeed. We know that the path there looks different for everyone, and therefore we work every day to create a school where safety, relationships, and high expectations go hand in hand.

We are now looking for you who want to take on one of the school's most important assignments.

Why you should choose Bjäre School

Here, you become part of a dedicated staff group where we help and support each other.

We know that the most challenging assignments are also the most meaningful. Therefore, you will work closely with an experienced team with access to student health services, school leadership, and colleagues who are there when you need them. If you are driven by creating real change, building strong relationships, and making a difference in a young person's life, we believe you will thrive with us.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a resource pedagogue who wants to work closely with a student in grade 6 who has extensive needs for individual support.

The student is primarily taught in their own learning environment and has challenging behavior that sometimes manifests through strong affect and acting-out behaviors. Therefore, we are looking for you who can be the safe, stable, and calm adult that the student needs to develop both academically and socially.

This is not a standard resource assignment.

It is an assignment where you get the opportunity every day to make a real difference for a student who needs an adult who believes in them, stays when things get difficult, and never loses focus on the student's potential.

You will work together with teachers, student health services, and school leadership in a close team where you jointly plan, follow up, and develop the student's schooling.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • be the student's primary support throughout the school day
  • create structure, safety, and predictability
  • plan and conduct teaching together with the responsible teacher
  • work with low-arousal and preventive approaches in situations that risk escalating
  • build a strong and trusting relationship with the student
  • motivate the student to learning and development based on their daily condition and individual prerequisites
  • document and follow the student's development
  • collaborate closely with guardians, student health services, and other professionals.

Qualifications

Who are you?

We believe that your personal qualities are crucial for success in this role.

You are a person who instills calm even when others become stressed. You have the ability to maintain a professional attitude in pressurized situations and always see the person behind the behavior.

You don't need to have all the answers, but you need to be curious, unpretentious, and willing to develop together with us.

We believe you are:

  • safe, stable, and self-assured in your leadership
  • very patient and resilient
  • calm even in situations where others lose their composure
  • clear, consistent, and structured
  • flexible and solution-oriented
  • relationship-building and skilled at building trust
  • attentive and empathetic without being unclear
  • a team player who appreciates close collaboration.

We would appreciate if you have:

  • experience working with students in need of extensive special support
  • experience with challenging or acting-out behaviors
  • knowledge of low-arousal approaches
  • experience with clarifying pedagogy
  • experience from school, adapted primary school, or other pedagogical activities.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-12 Or by agreement.

We offer a wellness allowance and the opportunity for both salary and vacation pay exchange according to current agreements. A smoke-free workplace applies. As part of the Helsingborg Family, we collaborate with other municipalities in the region for competence development and experience sharing.

Municipal agreements apply, and in the case of a permanent position, there is an obligation for war-time placement in Båstad Municipality. We value diversity and welcome all applicants; it is important that every employee's competence is utilized.

Union representatives can be reached via their respective union websites.

Selection and interviews take place continuously, which means the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Båstad Municipality has taken a stand regarding recruitment channels and therefore declines contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
