We are looking for a Mentor

As a mentor at Realgymnasiet in Gothenburg, you will work with the development of a student group. You are part of our student health team and collaborate closely with teachers and student health professionals to ensure our students have the best conditions for learning. You will primarily focus on the students' personal and academic development. For our vocational programs, employability after graduation is a key part of the role, while for students on university-preparatory programs, the focus is on their motivation and opportunities for further studies.

You will coach our students through motivational efforts, goal setting, and future planning. You will support students with study planning and study techniques. A key part of the role is ensuring that students' study plans are up-to-date and align with the program's credit plan. The position also includes administrative tasks, as you will have some responsibilities as a Student Counselor (SYV).

You will collaborate with school staff and drive the mentorship work from a broad perspective, based on the current educational offerings at the school. You will participate in student welfare work, communicate with guardians, plan and lead mentor sessions, development meetings, parent meetings, and similar activities. You will support students during the school day and in their interactions with teachers. Furthermore, you will continuously work with our teachers to communicate goal achievement to the student. As a mentor, you maintain a holistic perspective with the student at the center.

We are located in the heart of Gothenburg, right on Järntorget, and you will join a wonderful collegium where we care deeply for each other and for our students. We are looking for someone interested in encouraging, supporting, and strengthening our students to reach as far as they can!

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, we require:

• Completed pedagogical or social pedagogical education
• Previous experience within upper secondary school (gymnasium)
• Other education deemed equivalent by the employer

A degree from the Student and Career Guidance program is an advantage.
