Your workplace
We in the intake group at Children and Family are looking for new colleagues as two of our staff members are going on parental leave.
Within the Investigation and Protection Unit, we work with qualified intake, investigation, and follow-up work in accordance with current legislation. BBiC (Children's Needs at the Center) and Signs of Safety permeate all our work, as we explore networks and their own solutions together with families, always with the child's safety and best interests as the starting point. We drive processes forward by being structured, curious, innovative, and brave.
The Investigation and Protection Unit consists of an intake group, two investigation groups, a high-intensity investigation group, and the social services' Domestic Violence in Close Relationships team. The operational area also includes the Prevention and Service Unit and the Family Support and Foster Care Unit, which enables close collaboration and the right help at the right time.
The intake group consists of five social secretaries and an SSPF-coordinator/social secretary in collaboration with the police, along with our own 1st social secretary. Collegially, we are non-hierarchical, curious about each other's perspectives, and value our differences. We work together on most things and help each other out. We are keen to jointly enable a balance between work and leisure, and we also have a rolling schedule for the possibility of remote work.
Your assignment
You will primarily work within the framework of preliminary assessments by receiving applications and reports concerning children and young people aged 0–20 years, and writing statements upon request from other authorities. You are a key part of the initial contact for children, young people, families, concerned members of the public, and professionals. You collaborate closely with preschools, schools, the police, and healthcare. We also visit various collaboration partners at their APT meetings (Assessment and Planning Meetings) to explain our mission, and participate in some parent groups.
In meetings with families and collaboration partners, we are careful to ensure everyone receives a good reception. We have a strong child's perspective, are sensitive to people's concerns, and attuned to families' experiences of their situation.
We like to think new and find creative solutions. Since Härryda is a smaller municipality, there are great opportunities to test ideas, both big and small. For example, we have recently started a collaboration with the municipal library, and we are exploring other new collaboration opportunities with other parts of society. We are close to our internal colleagues, which facilitates collaboration in general but especially at the individual level.
The position is a permanent appointment at the Investigation and Protection Unit, but not specifically within the intake group. Due to the new Social Services Act, parts of the organization may look different when our colleagues on parental leave return, which could mean you stay in the intake group. If not, your employment will continue in one of our other work groups.
Requirements for the position
Requirements:
- Social Work degree (210 ECTS/credits)
- Category B driver's license
- Experience in investigation work/public authority work concerning children and young people
Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience in intake assignments within children and young people
- Training in BBiC, Signs of Safety, Ester, Savry, systems theory, MI, ViNR, or honor-related violence and threats
For employment in public authority assignments, a background check is conducted, including extracts from the Police Register of Offenses and study certificates from higher education institutions.
