About the Job

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people?

Sambuh consists of a small Residential Care Home (HVB) with four places and 19 apartments for Supported Housing in integrated apartments, primarily located on Hisingen. The target group is young people aged 16–20 who, for various reasons, cannot live at home.

Sambuh has a work team where all staff are highly engaged and knowledgeable in social work and therapeutic youth work. As a Youth Secretary, you are the contact person for between 3 and 4 young people, providing them with both emotional and practical support based on the individual's resources and needs. Collaboration with authorities within social services, schools, and healthcare is a key part of the role.

The mission of our operations is to provide young people with the right support so that they become safe, independent adults when they move on from us. Our services meet people during a crucial life phase—a time of identity formation and training for independence. Those who come to us need support in various areas of life, such as relationships, societal information, mental and physical health, as well as support in education and/or employment.

We are looking for you who want to contribute to making a difference in the lives of young people. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you have a good ability to build trusting relationships with the young people, while simultaneously being able to set boundaries in a gentle and clear manner. You need to be secure in yourself so that you can take responsibility for the operations' routines and have the ability to adapt depending on what the situation requires. Sambuh HVB and Supported Housing is a workplace where good communication is essential; you must want to and be able to collaborate. In working with young people, we use the methods MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low-Affective Approach), and TMO (Trauma-Informed Care).

Practical tasks are included in the role, such as preparing apartments after a resident moves out, driving young people to important meetings, and supporting young people in maintaining their homes. The operations document in the digital support system Treserva, and it is important that the documentation is both legally secure and based on an ethical approach.

In addition to meaningful work, you will be offered an engaged and competent team, as well as close support and supervision from the manager on site. You will participate in the workplace's APT (Work Environment Committee), operational meetings, supervision, and relevant training. Working hours are scheduled with day, evening, and every fourth weekend shifts.

About You

You who apply should have a strong interest in social work with young people. A prerequisite is that you have a degree in Social Work or another university or college education that the employer deems equivalent. You must also have a valid driver's license (Category B) and experience in social work.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as successful as possible. You are pleasant and helpful to other people, even in stressful situations, and show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting, positive, and driven by ensuring young people receive the support they need.

You take responsibility for your own tasks and the group's tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.

You bring new ideas and perspectives to the job and help solve problems. You are curious, encourage dialogue and questions, and can see more than one possible solution. You translate your creativity into practice and lead to results.

According to the Act (2013:852) on Register Checks for Persons Working with Children, extracts from the police's criminal record must be presented by individuals before employment. You can order this on the Police's website.

The intended salary range for the position is 35,000 – 46,000 SEK per month. The salary is based on a combined assessment of your education, experience, and the competencies you bring to the role.
