I am a man in my 30s living in my own apartment in Kungälv. I have personal assistance due to severe autism. I am now looking for a new assistant to join my team! To feel well, I need a daily life characterized by clarity, structure, and calm. When I receive too many stimuli or when communication breaks down, I can become stressed and react strongly. Therefore, it is important that you, as an assistant, work preventively, help me create a sense of security, and use a low-arousal and pedagogical approach. I also have a severe intellectual disability and epilepsy. I do not have verbal speech. However, I use body language and picture support. My support needs are extensive, and you will help me with all parts of daily life, such as personal hygiene, meals, dressing and undressing, as well as supervision and guidance throughout the day. What does the work look like? Structure and predictability are central to me. Therefore, the day follows a clear picture schedule where you, as an assistant, help me understand, prepare for, and carry out the different tasks of the day. The work is based at home, and your most important task is to create a calm and safe environment. You need to be attentive and present throughout the entire work shift. Music is a large and important part of my daily life and often features in our activities. If you have an interest in music, that is a big plus. Who am I looking for? I am looking for you who are:
- calm, secure, and stable
- structured and responsible
- responsive and pedagogical
- good at maintaining calm even in challenging situations
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
- autism and intellectual disability
- low-arousal approach
- working with challenging behaviors
- alternative communication, such as picture support
