The Swedish Land Survey (Lantmäteriet) is the agency responsible for mapping Sweden. Our tasks also include registering and securing ownership of all real estate and managing their boundaries. We are now looking for you who have a strong commitment to society.

The Swedish Land Survey is the state land survey agency and administrative authority for issues regarding real estate division, basic geographical information, real estate information, and registration. The Swedish Land Survey is governed, among other things, by the government's annual letter of allocation and is a board-governed agency. The Director General is the head of the agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now strengthening the team around the Director General and are therefore looking for a Senior Policy Officer. Today, there are two employees in the team, and it will soon be expanded with several competencies in cross-agency investigations, strategic environmental analysis, senior handling, and qualified administrative support. We are also simultaneously looking for a head of the DG's team. You will have the opportunity to influence and shape working methods and processes and create results in close collaboration with others. A goal of the DG's team is unified and coordinated support.

Do you want to work as a direct strategic support and key person for our Director General and have a close connection to the Government Offices (Regeringskansliet)?

The DG's team provides strategic and administrative management support to the Director General and coordinates certain cross-agency issues. This means that the team has tasks such as coordinating, initiating, and driving issues in relation to the Government Offices, assisting the Legal Director with legislative development, coordinating the Director General's cases and preparation of such cases before decisions, quality assuring and following up on some of the agency's planning, steering, and supporting documents, and providing administrative support to the board, the Director General, and the management group. It also involves responsibility for planning and coordinating both the work in the Swedish Land Survey's management group and the board work.

As a Senior Policy Officer within the Swedish Land Survey, you are responsible for producing, coordinating, and preparing materials. You compile and quality assure strategic decision-making materials for the DG. You assist in communication with the Government Offices, which means that you, together with colleagues, handle and coordinate the agency's correspondence, consultations, and reporting to the Government Offices. You lead, steer, and work with investigations and follow-up on the Director General's and the Head of Staff's assignments. The role is varied and requires a good understanding of the public administration. You also provide strategic and operational support in various tasks as needed over time. You will support and steer the operations in a changing time that places new demands. The role presupposes good cooperation both internally and externally.

The location is at the Swedish Land Survey's offices in Gävle, Uppsala, or Stockholm. The majority of employees within the team are located in Gävle, which is why regular presence in Gävle is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have an academic degree relevant to the position or equivalent work experience and at least three years of qualified and current work experience in the role of a senior policy officer for cross-agency management issues and have provided support to top management in a larger organization/agency or preferably within the Government Offices as an agency policy officer. Experience of working from leadership and steering of a state agency or within the Government Offices is a requirement.

You have work experience in investigating, analyzing, and handling complex information with both a detailed focus and a holistic perspective. You have extensive experience in writing reports, decision-making materials, and statements. You have several years of experience working with strategic development issues and long-term change work in a complex operation. You have experience handling media attention, working in collaboration and dialogue both within and outside your own organization, and working in complex organizations with cross-functional groups. You have very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English.

Working in the state means that you follow the state's value base. There are also special requirements on judgment, security thinking, and that you follow current laws.

The position is security-classified, which means that you must be a Swedish citizen and that a security check with register control and security screening interview will be conducted before employment. The role also means that you will be placed on the war establishment.
