As Chief of Staff, you play a central role in supporting the head of the authority and streamlining management work. The staff is responsible for supporting the DG in his task of steering, leading, and following up on the authority's overall operations, and the Chief of Staff often acts as a link between the DG and the organization's top managers as well as external actors. This means that you personally provide strategic and operational support to the DG. An important task for the Chief of Staff is to lead the staff work by building up, leading, and driving the staff and the work there. You are a key person to ensure that the head of the authority's decisions are communicated and implemented in the organization. The Chief of Staff also leads the staff's work and has overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel. The assignment also includes independently carrying out assignments on your own initiative or from the DG. You will support and steer the operations in a changing time that places new demands.
The role presupposes good cooperation within and outside the staff and with trade union parties and chief safety representatives. You are a role model as a manager and leader.
The location is at Lantmäteriet's offices in Gävle, Uppsala, or Stockholm. The majority of employees within the staff are located in Gävle, which is why regular presence in Gävle is required.

You take strategic responsibility for performing the tasks in the staff together with your employees. You have a working style in everyday life where you drive, involve, coordinate, implement, inform, support, and steer. You also easily find a balance and a clear connection between the strategic, the tactical, and the operational. You are stable and trustworthy as a person and have an easy time cooperating, collaborating, and communicating both in speech and writing. You have a high capacity and enjoy having many issues going on at the same time.
In addition to this, you have personal ability and aptitude to work in accordance with Lantmäteriet's employee, manager, and leadership criteria.
Working in the state means that you follow the state's value base. There are also special requirements on judgment, security thinking, and that you follow current laws.
