We are now looking for a Unit Manager for Botkyrka Municipality, where you will play a central role in leading operations, staff, and change initiatives within the open leisure activities for children and young people.

About the assignment

This is a consultancy assignment via Bemannia, where you will work on behalf of Botkyrka Municipality. The position is a full-time role (40 hours/week) starting on August 17, 2026, and ending on January 15, 2027. There is also a possibility of extension. Most of the working hours are on-site, although some remote work may be possible.

As a Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, economy, working environment, and personnel. The role involves supporting, planning, and monitoring the operations based on a goal- and results-oriented approach. The team consists of approximately 20 employees. A key part of the job will be internal and external collaboration, as well as frequent contact with other departments, including the management group and the head of operations.

The assignment takes place in an organization undergoing a comprehensive change process. All open leisure activities have been procured, and operational transitions will take place during the assignment period. A central part of the assignment will therefore be to lead and handle personnel-related issues associated with these transitions, as well as to ensure a well-functioning change and collaboration process.

In parallel with the change work, you are responsible for ensuring stable and high-quality daily operations as well as continued goal achievement within the operations. The role involves close collaboration with the head of operations, the management group, trade union representatives, and other parts of the administration.

Your responsibilities

The responsibilities will focus heavily on leading and handling personnel-related issues connected to the operational transitions. There will also be a strong focus on ensuring that the operations are conducted with high quality and in accordance with decided goals and guidelines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for operations, economy, working environment, and personnel.
  • Leading, planning, monitoring, and developing operations based on set goals, guidelines, and quality requirements.
  • Driving and leading change work in connection with operational transitions.
  • Handling personnel-related issues related to restructuring and operational transitions in accordance with current legislation and agreements.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration with employees, trade union organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for budget, financial monitoring, and resource planning.
  • Actively participating in management group work and contributing to the continued development of the business area.

Your qualifications

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent knowledge and work experience.
  • Previous managerial or leadership experience.
  • Documented experience in working with personnel, result monitoring, budgeting, and operational planning.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
  • Experience working with an intercultural approach and environments characterized by diversity.
  • Very good knowledge and interest in societal issues and the youth political field, norm criticism, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc.

Meritorious

  • Experience of previous work in politically governed operations.
  • Experience of leading change.
